A woman has warned of the 'side effect' that took her by surprise after using a popular weight drug.
Weight loss jabs like Mounjaro are increasing in popularity in the US and around the world.
However, the United States has seen a huge increase in users, noting a 700 percent rise in GLP-1 (glucagon-like peptide-1) antagonist usage over four years in those who do not have diabetes, as per a 2024 report.
Mounjaro is one of the top three GLP-1 medications people are taking, and works by slowing down how quickly food is digested, so you feel fuller for longer, on less food.

For Lillie Woodall (not her real name), it came with an unexpected cost.
She penned an article for the Daily Mail detailing her experience, sharing how she used to be a size 18 before taking the weight loss jab, where she dropped down to a size 12.

She shared she used to struggle with her cravings before taking up Mounjaro months before.

But now, she no longer feels hungry, and hasn’t eaten junk food in weeks.
Having dropped a whopping 42 pounds and losing three dress sizes, she feels better than ever before.
However, with her weight loss, came an unexpected side effect.
Her judgement.

Sharing how ex-smokers can harp on about their renewed sense of taste and smell after ditching cigarettes, she said a ‘former fatty like me beats you hands down’.
She explained to the Daily Mail that she simply ‘can’t help’ herself, adding: “Whenever I see an overweight person, I want to march up to them and ask why on Earth they aren't taking Ozempic, Mounjaro or some other form of skinny jab.”

Explaining that a lot of overweight people struggle with ‘yo-yo dieting’ and being on ‘miserable’ diets, Lillie shared that now, she feels like she’s a changed woman.

She said of the benefits Mounjaro brought her: “Is it any wonder I want to recruit those struggling as I once was and convert them to the new religion of jabbing? Freedom from yo-yo dieting, freedom from excessive 'food noise' and the opportunity to fit back into all the clothes you haven't worn for years.”
Noting that she was judging a family of women she deemed overweight for their grocery picks, she said she also understands what it feels like to be ‘tubby and preached at’, as well as ‘the embarrassment, the upset and, yes, the total and utter fury.’
She noted that the friend who used to police her eating is now an ex-friend who she hasn’t spoken to in two years.
This, she says, is the reason why she hasn’t approached anyone to talk to them about their weight.

With this new judgement being an unexpected 'side effect' she had no way to predict, she says she hopes people come around to the idea of using weight jabs for the sake of their health.
Mounjaro manufacturer Eli Lilly told UNILAD: "Mounjaro (tirzepatide) should only be used when prescribed by a licensed healthcare professional, and prescriptions should be fulfilled and supplied by registered pharmacies or providers.
"We encourage patients to consult their doctor or other healthcare professional to discuss any possible side effects they may be experiencing and to ensure that they are getting genuine Lilly medicine."
