Woman, 28, paralyzed after being crushed by piano in tragic freak accident

Danielle Drummond had just moved to Oregon when an incident involving a piano saw her left with life-altering injuries

A woman has spoken out after an accident saw a piano dropped on top of her leaving her paralyzed.

Danielle Drummond recently moved away from her family in Cleveland to Eugene, Oregon for a fresh start. However, on 12 April, she was involved in a shocking accident which has left her with life-altering injuries.

The 28-year-old and her friend were trying to 'move and fix' a piano, according to a GoFundMe organised by her sister.

However, while moving it, the piano 'slipped' and ended up 'crushing' Danielle, who was 'rushed to ER' where she had to 'undergo emergency surgery to stablize her spine'.

She says she was told her spine was 'severed' and she had a 'T11, T12 fracture' and a 'fusion from T10-L2' and has been left 'paralyzed from the waist down', she told Cleveland 19 News.

Danielle was also told she 'will never walk again' and has since spoken out about the incident.

Danielle told the news outlet she's 'trying to keep high spirits' despite the unexpected, colossal accident.

"I know this is my life now," she said. "It's hard."

She said 'as of right now', she knows she's going to have to undergo 'a lot more physical therapy' to 'rebuild' her strength and will have to relocate from living in a van with her dog to a more typical home.

When asked whether she would move back to Cleveland to be with her family, she said: "I don't even know how I'd get home. Like let alone how all the transfers with all the medical stuff would go.

"Right now I don't think I'm even able to do that far of a car ride or a trip in an airplane."

Danielle's sister has since set up a GoFundMe page to raise money for her medical expenses.

The description reads: "My baby sister means the world to me and I am hoping that any help received can provide financial support for her future medical needs.

"Our family thanks you for all your support, consideration, thoughts, love and prayers. If unable to help financially, sharing would be greatly appreciated.

"I do not like to do this but it needs to be done on my sisters behlf. She would without hesitation stop to help one in need. Such a strong and wise woman, down to earth and humble, her aura reflects her beautiful soul.

"We will get through this with lots of prayer and positive guidance. This is in Gods hands now, please wrap them around her tight."
