Customer slams McDonald’s for 'not having a single $1 item on its dollar menu'

'I am so done with McDonald's...'

It's no secret that everything is getting more and more expensive, and despite being known as a budget fast food restaurant, sadly, McDonald's is no exception.

And it's definitely not something that has gone unnoticed among customers, with one woman taking to TikTok to rage about the so-called dollar menu.

Taking to the app, Anne Arroyo pointed out that, despite it's name, there are no longer any items available for a dollar or less, with every item now listed at a higher price point.

In the clip, which has been viewed hundreds of thousands of times, she says it's getting 'out of hand.'

"McDonald's has a dollar menu right now without a single item that costs $1," she said, while showing a clip of the dollar menu, which were all priced from $1.29 and above.

In the caption, Anne wrote: "McDonald’s pricing is getting out of hand. How are you going to call something a dollar menu and put $1, $2, $3, right next to that when there are no $1 items? This isn't even a McDonald’s in a nice area."

Lots of people in the comments section of Anne's video seemed to agree, with one commenting: "I stopped going when drinks were no longer $1," while another added: "I am done with McDonald's."

A third wrote: "McDonald's hasn't been cheap in a few years but is very bad this last year!"

The dollar menu was first introduced in 2018, offering up items for, you guessed it, just $1. The menu included four items: a sausage burrito, the McChicken, a cheeseburger or a fountain drink.

Now, however, you must purchase a full-priced item to get a $1 McDouble, McChicken, small fries or six chicken nuggets.

Prices are definitely rising everywhere, but many people have called the fast-food chain 'greedy' for continuing to raise its prices while still making astronomical profits.

McDonald's revenue saw huge increase of 14 percent on its Wall Street forecast, amount to an eye-watering $6.69 billion.

But despite its profits, the Chicago-based company has seen a drop off in visits from customers with an annual income of $45,000 or less, prompting it to focus on value meals rather than higher priced items.

According to the Economist, the chain's most staple item, the Big Mac, has risen in price by 125 percent since 1996, and by six percent in the last two years alone.

Will it stop us eating there every time we have a hangover? Probably not.
