Grammy-winning composer Danny Elfman has been accused of sexual abuse for the second time in the last five years.

Elfman, 70, who has composed for popular films like Spider-Man: No way Home, now faces a lawsuit from an unidentified woman referred to as Jane Doe XX in court documents that were filed Thursday in Los Angeles Superior Court.

The new plaintiff has alleged that she and Elfman met at a party in April of 1997 when she was a 21-year-old student at the New York Academy and Elfman was 47.

The accuser is suing Elfman and his company, Musica de la Muerta, for sexual assault, gender violence, intentional infliction of emotional distress, sexual harassment and negligence from 1997 to 2002.

Elfman’s spokesperson has denied the allegations against him.

In a statement, his spokesperson said: “The allegations of misconduct made against Mr. Elfman are baseless and absurd. His legal team is assessing all options and he will vigorously defend these claims in court.”

In 2018, Elfman faced his first accusation of sexual abuse from composer Nomi Abadi.

This lawsuit was initially settled, but Elfman was sued this July for failure to fully pay the settlement agreement reached.

Elfman is still yet to pay $85,000 of the $835,000 settlement, according to reports.

In the initial lawsuit, Abadi alleged that in Elfman had exposed himself and masturbated in front of her on multiple occasions. A 2017 police report was also cited where Elfman was accused of indecent exposure.

The new plaintiff has alleged that she and Elfman met at a party in April of 1997, when she was a 21-year-old student at the New York Academy, and Elfman was 47.

She would accept his frequent invitations to industry events, developing a relationship that she hoped would boost her own career.

The documents also note that Elfman would often ask her opinions on films and music and treated her as a ‘consultant and protégé'.

The relationship between the two took a turn in a hotel room one night when Elfman allegedly 'removed all of his clothing until he was completely nude in front of Plaintiff, exposing his genitals'. Defendant Elfman expressed to Plaintiff that this was the only way he could 'work, be creative, and successful'.

The plaintiff continued to see him after this alleged incident and Elfman would allegedly continue to walk around nude in her company. She claimed that she had slept dozens of times in the same bed, on top of the covers, with Elfman while he was nude, and she was fully clothed.

In 2002, Elfman allegedly told the plaintiff that whenever she stayed over, he would masturbate while she was asleep next to him. After this, she ended the relationship.

The plaintiff is seeking damages, ‘including but not limited to medical and incidental expenses and loss of earnings.’
