The FBI have revealed texts allegedly sent by Tyler Robinson which show his 'confession' to killing Charlie Kirk.

Robinson was arrested last week in connection with the assassination of Charlie Kirk.

The 22-year-old Utah native was found less than 48 hours after the tragic incident. It's said that Robinson's family turned him in after seeing the FBI's public appeals to help them identify the suspect.

Reportedly, Robinson has not been cooperating with law enforcement since his arrest, said Utah Governor Spencer Cox.

The FBI have been releasing bits of information about its ongoing investigation into Robinson, including that DNA found at the crime scene matched his.

The DNA was found on a screwdriver that was covered from the rooftop where the fatal shot was fired, FBI director Kash Patel told Fox News Channel.

DNA was also found on the towel that the rifle thought to have been used to kill Kirk was wrapped in.

Patel has since shared more information about the FBI's key suspect and how Robinson seemingly admitted to his friends in a group chat that he did it.

He penned in the Discord chat, per The Washington Post: "Hey guys, I have bad news for you all. It was me at UVU yesterday. I'm sorry for all of this."

Robinson's messages continued: "I'm surrendering through a sheriff friend in a few moments. Thanks for all the good times and laughs, you’ve all been so amazing, thank you all for everything."

The 22-year-old is said to have been arrested around two hours after sending the messages.

The news comes as the FBI investigate whether Robinson was part of an 'extended network'.

"We’ll also be dropping a lot of paper, a lot of subpoenas out there, to take a look to see if there was any extended network," FBI Deputy Director Dan Bongino told Fox News yesterday.

Bongino added that there were 'multiple warning signs' Robinson exhibited before the shooting, and the agency wants to work out if Kirk's killing was 'part of a larger effort'.

Meanwhile, authorities in Utah are preparing to file capital murder charges against Robinson as early as today (September 16) in the killing of Kirk, who was a dominant figure in conservative politics who became a confidant of President Donald Trump after founding Arizona-based Turning Point USA, one of the nation’s largest political organisations.
