Amy Bradley’s brother has spoken of why he feels he 'can't trust' the police as his sister’s mysterious case continues to remain unsolved.

On March 24, 1998, Amy vanished while on a Royal Caribbean cruise vacation with her parents and her brother.

Amy, from Virginia, was reported to have been last seen on the balcony of her cabin at around 5:30 am, just hours before the ship was scheduled to arrive at Curaçao from Aruba. However, when her father went to check on her in her cabin after he had woken up at around 6am, she was nowhere to be seen.

Since then, the 23-year-old's whereabouts have remained a mystery, and she was declared legally dead in 2010, even though her family believe she is somewhere in the world.

Netflix’s deep dive documentary on Bradley's disappearance last month, titled Amy Bradley is Missing, looked into the conspiracy theories that surround the case, as well as missed opportunities to find the missing woman.

Ron, her father, recalled the day Amy disappeared in the doc, saying: "Something woke me up again, I don't know what it was but when my eyes opened, I looked out again and she wasn't there.

"The balcony door was open about 12-14 inches, I noticed her cigarettes weren't out there and the shirt she was wearing that night was laying on the chair in her room.

"The first thing I'm thinking is she's changed her clothes and went up, getting a cup of coffee, taking pictures because we were coming in to port."

Ron and the rest of her family began to look for her on the Rhapsody of the Seas cruise ship, but couldn’t find a trace of her.

Her disappearance has been a long topic of discussion, with some believing she was kidnapped and sold into trafficking, and others adamant she may have fallen overboard.

While a lot of criticism has been focused on the police and the FBI, who have yet to solve the case, Amy’s brother refuses to trust them and has explained why.

Nate Eaton, a true crime journalist, spoke to Brad in a recent interview for East Idaho News and asked him about the theory that Amy is in Aruba.

"If she has been stuck on the island for all this time, why wouldn’t the police or government say something?" the journalist said, to which Brad said: “I personally believe the police or government are involved in some of these operations.

"We’ve learned a lot of things and we’ve been told by a number of people that customs officials are in on things, harbor police are in on things, local police are in on things, and who knows about the government.”

He continued: “These cartels that run drugs through these islands get a hold of whoever they want to get a hold of to make sure that their operations go the way they need to go, so I don’t think you can trust local officials.”

One large theory about Bradley being trafficked to Aruba claims that she was part of a large-scale operation to kidnap and circulate women to clients around the world.

People who believe this theory also believe that people of influence are involved, be it police, government officials and wealthy people.

Sadly, no evidence has turned up to point in any direction definitively, but the family still hopes for answers one day.
