An elderly woman accused of shooting her husband a day after he was admitted into care reportedly had a cryptic note on her person when gunning him down.
Harriet Kay Recker was arrested on September 12 after allegedly shooting her 81-year-old husband, Dennis Recker, at a Hilton Head Island care center in Beaufort County, South Carolina, just a day after he was admitted into the home.
Cops now believe the 82-year-old's attack was premeditated based on interviews with witnesses and family members and a number of notes and financial documents.

Now, investigators have revealed Recker appeared to be in possession of an eerie note in her purse, which matched up with other notes found in her home, as court proceedings are underway.
The note allegedly read: "To you all, this has just been too much for me, I so wish I could do it with the wonderful family we have, so many good friends.
"We can’t have a life without someone and that someone can’t be me as I am not strong enough or smart enough to do all this," reports WTOC.
After hearing this from the investigator, the judge determined probable cause in the case and escalated it to a grand jury.

The court heard how Dennis had been admitted to the Preston Health Center on Birdsong Way for extra care to help with his ailing health.
Recker had been taken to the facility by a neighbor on the morning of the shooting, who then left the couple alone in a room to fetch an extra chair, investigators said.
When the neighbor left, they reported hearing a loud noise which prompted them to run back to the room.
The elderly woman was then allegedly seen clutching a revolver while Dennis had suffered an apparent gunshot wound to the chest.

Tragically, his last words were, 'She shot me,' according to a witness.

Despite the best efforts of paramedics on the scene, Dennis died.
Cops say the woman requested an attorney after her arrest and reportedly told officers: "He [Dennis] was a good man," and that this was a 'sad situation,' the outlet added.

Recker was booked into Beaufort County Jail the same day. She has since been charged with murder and possession of a weapon during a violent crime.
The tragedy has shocked the local community as one neighbor commented on the situation.
Speaking to the outlet, Ted Dwemoh, from Beaufort County, who has provided pest control services at the couple's Sun City home, said she was willing to help and that she was kind.
Ted described her as 'always loving' and 'the nicest person in Sun City'.
