The CEO of Bud Light's parent company, Anheuser-Busch, has released statement addressing the backlash from their partnership with trans influencer, Dylan Mulvaney.

On April 1, Bud fans questioned why the TikTok sensation - who has a following of over 10 million - was promoting the beer on her platform.

Bud Light sent the 26-year-old packs of beer with her face on it to celebrate her first full year as an 'out-and-proud trans woman'. Watch below:

The bizarre reaction resulted in videos circulating online of fans dumping cans and bottles of Bud Light in trash bins and down sinks.

After receiving hate and criticism online, Mulvaney said that she thinks she is 'an easy target'.

Speaking of the trolls, she questioned 'what is their goal?' during a Onward with Rosie O’Donnell podcast.

Mulvaney added: "These people, they don’t understand me and anything that I do or say then somehow gets taken out of context and is used against me and it’s so sad because everything I try to put out is positive.

"It’s trying to connect with others that maybe don’t understand me. It’s to make people laugh or to make a kid feel seen."

Well, CEO of Anheuser-Busch, Brendan Whitworth, addressed the fall-out on Friday in a statement, which read: "As the CEO of a company founded in America’s heartland more than 165 years ago, I am responsible for ensuring every consumer feels proud of the beer we brew.

"We’re honored to be part of the fabric of this country. Anheuser-Busch employs more than 18,000 people and our independent distributors employ an additional 47,000 valued colleagues.

"We have thousands of partners, millions of fans and a proud history supporting our communities, military, first responders, sports fans and hard-working Americans everywhere.

"We never intended to be part of a discussion that divides people.

"We are in the business of bringing people together over a beer.

"My time serving this country taught me the importance of accountability and the values upon which America was founded: freedom, hard work and respect for one another.

"As CEO of Anheuser-Busch, I am focused on building and protecting our remarkable history and heritage.

"I care deeply about this country, this company, our brands and our partners.

"I spend much of my time traveling across America, listening to and learning from our customers, distributors and others.

"Moving forward, I will continue to work tirelessly to bring great beers to consumers across our nation."
