Some iPhone users were left mystified after noticing a bug involving the US president whenever they used the voice-to-text feature.

Donald Trump has previously insisted that he is not a racist, despite the comments from his critics but a recent Apple glitch appears to have suggested otherwise.

On Tuesday (February 26), iPhone users noticed that when they used the voice-to-text feature it would make a rather bizarre change.

When a person said the word ‘racist’, some users noticed that their phone appeared to transcribe it as ‘Trump’ before quickly changing to the correct word.

At the time, Apple said it was aware of this bug following criticism and an influx of complaints on social media.

In a statement, an Apple spokesperson said: “We are aware of an issue with the speech recognition model that powers Dictation and we are rolling out a fix today.”

The issue has since been resolved, however, in a follow-up statement to Fox 56, the tech company did not explain why its system may have interpreted the president's name when users were saying the term.

Explaining how the voice-to-text feature works, Apple said the speech recognition models powering the Dictation feature may initially display words with some phonetic overlap until further examination helps it land on the actual word the user intended to say.

The company added that other worsts with an ‘R’ consonant have also suggested ‘Trump’ rather than the intended word.

While was rather quick with the fix, Apple has received significant criticism, most notably from far-right commentator Alex Jones.

After the glitch became a talking point he took to Twitter to suggest it was intentional.

He said: “EXTREME BREAKING NEWS! I just caught Apple carrying out a vicious, subliminal attack on President Trump.

“When you voice note the word racist on APPLE text the word Trump pops up and then disappears.

“Try it yourself folks, this attack is NEXT LEVEL EVIL. We are surrounded by deep state deception, only the truth will bring us victory.”

Before the issue was fixed, other iPhones users tried it out for themselves on their own devices.

One TikTok user said: "Worked for me but only one time."

A second commented: "This is insane it also worked for me and I gasped so loud."

While someone else wrote: "I WAS IN DISBELIEF UNTIL I TRIED IT."

UNILAD has contacted Apple for further comment.
