The lead singer of punk band Dropkick Murphys took aim at MAGA 'grifters and billionaires' during a recent concert, in a clear attack on some of former president Donald Trump's biggest supporters.

The so called 'MAGA movement' reignited after Trump's unsuccessful attempts to overthrow the 2020 US Presidential election, which was won by Joe Biden.

This culminated in the 6 January insurrection by many of Trump's most argent 'MAGA' supporters - which refers to his famous slogan 'Make America Great Again'.

Seeking to overthrow the result of the election, many of the rioters have since been arrested or face trail, but the sentiment remains strong. So too does support for Trump, who looks likely to run in the 2024 Presidential election amid an on-going FBI investigation.

In response to Trump's swell of support, Ken Casey of Dropkick Murphys unleashed a scathing attack on the MAGA movement - which was recorded by a Twitter user.

    Take a look below:

At a concert in Pennsylvania on Wednesday night (8 September), Casey blasted Trump as the 'greatest swindler in the history of the world'.

He added: “If you were a part of a union or working class people who were allowed to build a better life in the middle class of America, you f**king listen to us, ‘cause if you’re out there buying those f**king hats that these swindlers are selling at that f**king fair… then you’re a part of the problem."

"And I’ll tell you why — ‘cause you’re being duped by the greatest swindler in the history of the world."

Supporters of Donald Trump have fiercely backed the 'MAGA movement'.

Casey went on to state that people are: "Being duped by a bunch of grifters and billionaires who don’t give a sh*t about you or your family."

"They care about their f**king tax breaks and the money they can put in their pockets. If you consider yourself a patriot, and you’re spouting off that election denying sh*t, I will fight your a*s outside if you want to. Wake the f**k up!”

The Dropkick Murphys are a punk group from Quincy, Massachusetts who formed back in 1996.

With a strong political identity, the band, led by Casey, sent a cease and desist letter to a neo-nazi group earlier this year, after the used one of the group's songs for a promotional video.

The lead singer even threatened to 'smash' the group if his letter.

As for Trump, he continues to be investigated by the FBI for allegedly failing to return highly classified documents, while the January 6 Committee is also combing over his potential involvement in the insurrection.
