Beyoncé fans have been flooded with relief after the singer safely made it back to solid ground following a major malfunction that caused her to halt her stadium show in Houston, Texas.

Fans across the globe have been coming out in droves to watch the beloved Queen Bey carry out her Cowboy Carter world tour, with fans describing the gig as 'unbelievable' and praising Beyoncé as an 'incredible live performer'.

The concert sees the 'Who Run The World' singer strut her stuff on the stage, but she also takes to the skies in one section of the gig, during which she flies across the crowd while sitting in a red Cadillac.

It was during this particular segment that something went wrong on June 28, as Beyoncé was performing at the NRG Stadium.

While performing her song '16 Carriages', the car Beyoncé was sitting in began to tip dangerously to one side, causing her to stop singing and instruct the production team to 'stop'.

Beyoncé had to repeat her instruction multiple times before the car was safely lowered back down to the stage, at which point she stepped out and thanked fans for their patience.

Though she made it back down in one piece, her supporters have admitted to being completely terrified that something terrible could have happened to her when the car tipped.

Writing on Twitter, one fan urged: "No more flying car, @Beyonce!"

They added: "Glad they got her down safe. My heart skipped a beat when she said stop stop stop."

Another fan commented: "The car breaking in Houston was so scary ahhh," as a third added: "I don’t know how anybody is watching those videos of Beyoncé dangling on that car because my nerves are too bad."

In the wake of the incident Beyoncé has been praised for the way she remained calm as the car threatened to tip, with one fan noting that 'her ability to smile through the chaos [and] still continue the performance as if she didn't just experience a scare is truly remarkable'.

Beyoncé’s production and management company, Parkwood, has since released a statement addressing the incident in Houston, saying: "Tonight, in Houston, at NRG Stadium, a technical mishap caused the flying car, a prop Beyoncé uses to circle the stadium and see her fans up close, to tilt.

"She was quickly lowered, and no one was injured. The show continued without incident."

Beyoncé is set to her continue her tour with a gig in Washington, DC, scheduled for July 4.
