Netflix have dropped the trailer for season four of hit drama series You, with the return of the murderous main character Joe Goldberg.

It's been a while since we last caught up with You, but the incredibly popular Netflix series will be back on our screens pretty soon with just a month more of waiting before we get new episodes.

Since the events of the last season where he faked his death and ran away to France, Joe has resurfaced as 'Professor Jonathan Moore' and landed a cushy gig teaching in London.

Meanwhile, he's seemingly trying to resist the urge to get too close to people, probably because some people who have made that mistake in the past get un-alived, much to the delight of Netflix viewers.

However, Joe's plans to lay low and avoid getting noticed look set to go sideways when people start ending up dead, and this time it isn't Joe who's been doing the murdering.

There's a killer on the loose in season four of You, and they know who Joe really is.

Instead, this mysterious killer seems to see right through Joe's disguise as he receives messages addressing him by his name from someone with their sights set on him.

Still clearly hung up on Marienne, he seems out to prove that she's wrong about him while trying to balance that with figuring out who the mysterious 'eat-the-rich killer' might be.

Our protagonist declares that the mystery murderer must be 'hiding in plain sight', which is a bit of an inconvenience to Joe as he says all he wants is his 'little European holiday back'.

Fans are really excited to see the show return, and especially so to see the tables turned on Joe as he's become 'the one getting stalked'.

Joe can't outrun his past, no matter how hard he tries.
    Netflix

There's also plenty of people thirsting over Joe, despite the slightly unattractive quality of him having committed several murders and possibly adding to that tally when You season four gets here.

Others told Netflix to 'inject it into my veins', while someone else said the streaming service salvaging You after it was dropped by Lifetime and making more seasons of it was 'one of the best decisions they ever made'.

Some were intrigued at the trailer teasing the 'eat-the-rich killer' who seems to be putting on a show for Joe, with people wondering 'can I just not watch the other seasons but this one'.

Long time fans of the show were already having fun guessing who the killer that's stalking Joe might be, but you'll have to wait a little while to find out what secrets You has in store for you.

The first part of season four of You is set to release on Netflix on 9 February with the first batch of five episodes.

Part two of You will drop on the streaming service a month later on 9 March.
