Here's where you can watch an already released documentary about the Call of Duty franchise while we wait for Paramount's live-action movie to release.

It was recently announced that the much-loved gaming franchise will be heading to the theatres with the release of live-action film.

There has been no indication of storyline or the actors involved, but we know Paramount are working to bring Call of Duty to film.

David Ellison, Paramount's chairman and CEO, said: "As a lifelong fan of Call of Duty this is truly a dream come true. From the first Allied campaigns in the original Call of Duty, through Modern Warfare and Black Ops, I’ve spent countless hours playing this franchise that I absolutely love.

"Being entrusted by Activision and players worldwide to bring this extraordinary storytelling universe to the big screen is both an honor and a responsibility that we don’t take lightly."

Meanwhile, Activision president Rob Kostich added: "Throughout its history, Call of Duty has captured our imagination with incredible action and intense stories that have brought millions of people together from around the world, and that focus on making incredible Call of Duty games remains unwavering.

"With Paramount, we have found a fantastic partner who we will work with to take that visceral, breathtaking action to the big screen in a defining cinematic moment. The film will honor and expand upon what has made this franchise great in the first place, and we cannot wait to get started."

It will likely be a few years before we see this Call of Duty live-action movie, though there is a documentary about the series that is available to watch right now on Prime Video.

CODumentary, an 'independent' doc on the popular gaming franchise released in 2017. The documentary tells 'an incredible story of how the video game Call Of Duty grew into becoming one of the biggest global entertainment blockbuster franchises of all time', according to its makers.

They add: "From the early days of WWII through to Modern Warfare and Black Ops, CODumentary brings you a fascinating insight into how a multi-billion dollar video game was created and continues to remain at the top today."

It features interviews with YouTubers who have played the game, as well as former developers who helped make it the juggernaut it is today.

CODumentary is available to rent on Prime Video for $4.99, while physical versions are available to purchase online.
