Tom Holland has revealed why producers love casting him in movies with girlfriend, Zendaya.

Spider-Man fans will know that the pair have been starring in the sci-fi movies since 2017, but the couple have recently been cast in a new movie by Christopher Nolan.

Holland recently said that he didn't even need to know what the movie was about before he agreed to star in the project.

Describing the call from the Oppenheimer director as 'the phone call of a lifetime', Holland told Good Morning America: “All I can say is that I’m incredibly excited.

“And obviously honored, but that’s all I can say because, to be honest, that’s all I know.”

Holland will star alongside Anne Hathaway in the film, as well as Zendaya.

Joking about how studios love to cast them together, Holland told the Dish podcast: “Studios love it: One hotel room. Separate drivers. We’re not crazy.”

The pair are also working on a fourth Spider-Man movie, which is still in the early stages.

In an episode of the Rich Roll podcast released in October, Holland revealed that he and Zendaya have both read a draft of the script for the fourth Spider-Man film and that the 'writers are doing a great job.'

"One of the things is that, with Marvel, your film is a small cog in a large machine," he said.

"That machine has got to keep running. You have to make sure you can fit into that timeline at the right time to benefit the bigger picture.

"That’s one of the challenges we’re facing. The time in which we need to get that done is a tall order but definitely achievable with the people we have working on it now.

"We have a creative and we have a pitch and a draft, which is excellent.

"It needs work, but the writers are doing a great job. I read it three weeks ago and it really lit a fire in me.

"Zendaya and I sat down and read it together and we at times were bouncing around the living room like this is a real movie worthy of the fans' respect."

Marvel Studios president Kevin Feige previously confirmed that the fourth Spider-Man movie was in development in 2023, telling Entertainment Weekly: "All I will say is that we have the story."

"We have big ideas for that," he continued. "And our writers are just putting pen to paper now."
