The teaser trailer for the seventh Mission: Impossible movie is officially here and once again it looks like it's going to be an action-packed ride.

One scene in particular has left fans reeling, showing Tom Cruise performing a death-defying stunt.

The star's daredevil character Ethan Hunt can be seen speeding through the woods on his motorbike before riding it straight off the edge of a cliff, leaving both him and his bike free-falling.

Officially titled Mission: Impossible – Dead Reckoning Part One, the film's Twitter account confirmed the movie is set for release in 2023.

While details about the anticipated spy flick have been kept relatively under wraps, Cruise was spotted shooting scenes in Norway when filming for the seventh and eight instalments commenced.

The 59-year-old actor has famously performed his own stunts over the years and this time's no different.

In October 2020, he was spotted by fans just casually cruising (pun fully intended) on top of a speeding train.

TikTok user @tomaspangelo captured the moment on camera after catching sight of the actor sitting on top of the speeding carriage alongside the crew, including director Christopher McQuarrie, with his feet dangling over the edge.

As they managed to match the pace of the train, a smiling Cruise gave the group a wave as they shouted hello.

A month prior to this, the Hollywood heavyweight kicked off production with the death-defying motorcycle jump you can see in the new trailer.

Taking place on the 1,246-metre Helsetkopen mountain in Stranda, Norway, Cruise flies through the air on his motorbike before ditching the vehicle and parachuting down to safety.

Ole Arnstein Ringdal, one of hundreds who gathered to watch the stunt, told Norwegian news outlet NRK that Cruise rode off the mountain four times, adding: "After the third jump, he came over and talked to us from a distance of twenty metres. He loves nature here, and is very grateful for the hospitality he has experienced."

Now that the teaser's arrived, it's safe to say the fans are hyped, with one writing: "F**king epic. Cant wait!!"

Another, who went into a little more detail about the film, added: "#MissionImpossible Dead Reckoning: Part One looks destined to see on the biggest screen out there, ambitious insanity led by Tom Cruise, who never ceases to amaze.

"It's going to take something truly special to top Fallout & judging from this trailer it may just be that something."

Mission: Impossible – Dead Reckoning Part One will hit US cinemas on July 14, 2023, with Part Two slated for June 28, 2024.
