For the most impressive film scenes, we are often under the assumption that computer-generated imagery (CGI) is used for what we see on screen.

Well, this one fight scene from the 2010 film Inception has shocked fans as it doesn't use CGI.

This particular fight scene is where Dominick Cobb's right-hand man Arthur fights a projection in a rotating hallway in an impressive cinematic moment.

You would think that CGI was used to achieve this, but it actually wasn't, as the TikTok account Blue Clips explained.

Accompanying footage of the scene, the content creator said: "Did you guys know that the scene you're watching right now has zero CGI in it."

He continued by saying for the fight scene they built the entire hallway and then rigged it to rotate, in what he described as "one of the best practical scenes in the movie".

The scene was impressively done without any CGI.

The filming of the scene was discussed in a behind the scenes video of the making of Inception.

Many scenes in the film feature zero gravity that were carefully planned by its makers.

Speaking on filming the vertical corridor scene, the film's Visual Effects Supervisor, Paul Franklin, said: "The vertical corridor is supposed to be the same location as the horizontal corridor and it's an identical set.

"The difference is that it has been built vertically, so it's standing on its end. This means we can drop actors and stunt performers on wires down into the set and the camera looks up at them.

"They can then be raised or lowered or swing around inside the set and it looks like they are floating in zero gravity."

Joseph Gordon-Levitt, who played Arthur in Inception, shared what it was like from an actor's point of view.

He said: "In real zero-g, and I've actually spoken to people who have been in real zero-g, what they've told me is that they've never felt so relaxed in their life. What I did is the exact opposite of that.

"In order to make it looks like that was the case, I had to keep every muscle tight because I was supporting myself.

"I didn't have to worry about making myself look like I was having a hard time - I was having a hard time," Gordon-Levitt laughed.

One YouTube user said: "that hallway zero gravity fight scene I was so surprised to see that they actually like do it for real, cause lots of movies like that are done on computers and special effects. I loved how they actually did it this way.

A TikTok user added: "I love when movies do this method it’s fun and it looks dope."

Meanwhile, a third person said: "I love the camera angles in this scene. Christopher Nolan is a master director, and the cast is pitch perfect!"
