Just when you thought Pedro Pascal had given you all he could give, he's suddenly playing Ethan Hawke's gay lover.

The two A-list actors are set to star in Western short film Strange Way of Life, directed by Pedro Almodóvar, and it looks... well it looks like it's going to break the internet. Here's the trailer:

If Brokeback Mountain taught us anything, it's that audiences absolutely LOVE gay cowboys - and Pedro Almodóvar is prepared to deliver.

The film, which will be just 30 minutes long, will tell the story of Silva (Pedro Pascal), who travels through the desert to meet an old friend who he hasn't seen in 25 years, Sheriff Jake (Ethan Hawke).

It isn't long before Silva realises that this trip involves a lot more than just a friendly visit.

The trailer teases fans with all sorts of sexual tension between Hawke and Pascal, including one *very* sensual neck kiss.

In another scene, a lovelorn Pascal yells at Hawke: "You never loved me, you've never loved anyone in your life," which prompts Hawke to pull a gun on him.

We WILL be watching.

Talk about intense!

Teasing the details of the film on Dua Lipa's podcast At Your Service, Almodóvar said:

"This is a queer western in the sense that there are two men, and they love each other, and they behave in that situation in an opposite way.

"What I can tell you about the film is that it has a lot of the elements of the Western. It has the gunslinger. It has the ranch. It has the sheriff.

"But what it has that most Westerns don’t have is the kind of dialogue that I don’t think a Western film has ever captured between two men. And now I think I’m telling you too much."

Naturally, as soon as the trailer dropped, the people absolutely lost their minds, and are already trying to figure out how they can get tickets.

Just look at that chemistry!

"Good luck getting me to shut up about this," warned one Twitter user.

"This is going to be brilliant omg. I love it already," raved a second.

"I actually screamed- this just has everything. The colours, the actors- ITS GAY!?" a third excited viewer gushed.

And a fourth simply wrote: "Real cinema [is] back I could cry actually."

Strange Way of Life is set to premiere at this year's Cannes Film Festival, so good luck keeping your cool until then.
