Warning: Contains spoilers for the final episode of Obi-Wan Kenobi

Obi-Wan Kenobi wrapped up with a climactic season finale and delivered fans the ultimate crowd-pleaser before the final episode was done.

Fans have been loving the Disney+ miniseries that brought Ewan McGregor back to play Kenobi for the first time since 2005, barring a couple of sneaky vocal cameos.

In it we catch up with Kenobi 10 years after the events of Revenge of the Sith to find the Jedi master keeping his head down in a dangerous galaxy and watching over young Luke Skywalker.

At least that's the case until a young Princess Leia (Vivien Lyra Blair) is captured and he sets off on a daring rescue mission.

Fans have been hoping for a lot of things from Obi-Wan Kenobi, including a climactic rematch between Kenobi and former apprentice turned Sith Lord Darth Vader (Hayden Christensen).

Those fans were in for a treat as Obi-Wan Kenobi served up two fights between master and apprentice, along with a flashback to the prequel era of the pair duelling in happier times.

However, something else Star Wars devotees have really been anticipating is for Kenobi to say 'hello there', and after the final episode of the miniseries they won't have been left disappointed.

It's taken a long time to hear Kenobi say those two words and he passed up several opportunities throughout the show, but he finally spoke them in the best way possible in the final episode.

After much toil and effort, Kenobi successfully ensured Leia was safely returned home to her family and guaranteed Luke would have a happy childhood as his Uncle Owen (Joel Edgerton) wanted.

Setting off to resume his life as a hermit in the deserts of Tatooine, Owen asked Kenobi if he'd like to meet young Luke, and of course his first two words to the boy are 'hello there'.

The phrase is actually the first thing Kenobi ever said in Star Wars, Alec Guinness uttering the words to R2-D2 in A New Hope after rescuing Luke Skywalker from a band of Tusken Raiders.

McGregor got to say the line during Revenge of the Sith when confronting four-armed cyborg monster General Grievous, jumping down from the ceiling to make as dramatic an entrance as possible.

Since then the line has become iconic, which is a polite way of saying it's been memed to hell and back by fans of the Star Wars prequels.

While nothing has been announced about a possible second series, McGregor has said he hopes to play Kenobi again and thinks there is space for more stories to be told.
