Star Wars fans have been raving about new Disney+ series Obi-Wan Kenobi with viewers branding it ‘perfect’.

The first two episodes of the new series dropped on the streaming platform yesterday, 27 May, and fans have already raced through them and are eager for more.

Obi-Wan Kenobi sees actor Ewan McGregor in the titular character – reprising his role from the Star Wars prequel trilogy, while his co-star Hayden Christensen is also back.

If you've not seen it yet, you can check out the trailer here:

It’s set 10 years after the events in Star Wars: Episode III – Revenge of the Sith, in which the Jedi were destroyed by Order 66 and Anakin Skywalker became the Sith Lord Darth Vader.

Jedi Master Obi-Wan now watches over a young Luke Skywalker while evading the Empire's elite Jedi hunters during his exile on the desert planet Tatooine.

Posting on Twitter, one said: “#ObiWanKenobi is incredible. Downright incredible. I have no words. Parts I & II are some of the best I've watched in a very long time. #Reva is amazing, but Lyra Vivien Blair steals the show in every scene she's in. Ewan McGregor is amazing as well, and that final scene, chills.”

Another wrote: “Wow, the first two episodes of #ObiWanKenobi is amazing and fantastic start of a limited series, Ewan McGregor is terrific and everything about the series does made me appreciate the prequel trilogy a lot more I thought it would, looking forward to seeing more of the series.”
