A resurfaced clip of Matthew Perry and Matt LeBlanc in Friends has broken fans' hearts.

Perry was found having passed away at the age of 54 on Saturday (28 October) at his home in Los Angeles.

Authorities believe he died from an apparent drowning, however, his post-mortem examination was inconclusive and the case has been 'deferred' pending further investigation.

Perry played the iconic and much-loved role of Chandler Bing in hit US sitcom Friends and co-stars and fans of the show have been flocking to social media to commemorate him.

One particularly poignant clip from the show has resurfaced and has left fans in pieces.

In the sitcom - which first aired on NBC in September, 1994 - Perry took on the character of Chandler Bing, a sarcastic, comedic, commitment-phobe who works for a multinational cooperation in statistics analysis and data reconfiguration - although his friends never really remember.

Chandler falls into a hilarious on-off relationship with the one and only Janice (Maggie Wheeler) before finally ending up with Monica Geller (Courteney Cox).

Although, as much as we all jumped for joy when Chandler and Monica finally got together properly, the starring relationship of Chandler's life is with none other than best friend Joey Tribbiani (Matt LeBlanc).

And it's a resurfaced moment between Joey and Chandler which has left fans of the show sobbing.

A clip from season two, episode 16 titled The One Where Joey Moves Out, which first aired in 1996, has been widely shared on social media.

The video shows the moment Joey turns around on his way out through the door of the apartment to say to Chandler: "Listen, I don't know when I'm going to see you again?"

Chandler jokes they'll see each other again later on at the coffee house and so Joey leaves, but he barely makes it 20 seconds before he bursts back in to give his best friend a huge hug.

A TikToker - username @swifties200 - who re-shared the footage, wrote in the caption: "This scene will hit differently now he's gone #matthewperry #friends #gonetoosoon #rip."

The clip has broken Friends fans' hearts even more.

And many other Friends fans have been left even more 'devastated' after watching the scene too.

One TikTok user said: "Joey is all of us right now. RIP Matthew Perry."

"King of comedy. one of the best comedian of all time. He made the world laugh. RIP Chandler Bing," another added.

A third commented: "My heart hurts rn. I can only imagine how all of the cast feels. Rip Matt. You are loved."

And a fourth resolved: "As long as I keep watching Friends, he will live forever."
