It’s been years - a literal decade - since we last saw Emilia Clarke and Jason Momoa together on our screens, and yet, they continue to bless us with the absolute cutest friendship.

Starring together on Game of Thrones as Daenerys Targaryen and Khal Drogo respectively, Clarke and Momoa played a questionable couple on the show who, by a twist of fate better described as Stockholm Syndrome, evolve from a violent, forced partnership to one of suns, stars, and a tragic ending.

But before she could call Momoa’s character the moon of her life, Clarke had to film some pretty emotionally distressing scenes that were as hard to watch as they were to make.

To try and make the toll of it all slightly lighter, Momoa decided to pull a unique prank on his co-star that’s both horrifying and hilarious.

During an appearance on The Graham Norton Show, Clarke recalled Momoa’s shocking prank sharing: "There was the lovely, erm, rape scene early on in season one…so obviously, there's nudity and you kind of have to try to lighten the mood.

"Not only was it a sex scene, it was a violent sex scene, so [Momoa] decided for one of the scenes to not use a modesty sock, but use a beautiful pink, fluffy sock.

"So getting that close-up of me looking petrified just like, 'I didn't want it to happen, it's huge and it's pink and I don't know what to do!'"

For his part, Momoa opened up on the prank and shared that it was all in effort to make Clarke laugh.

During a Game of Thrones Q&A, Momoa recalled that on the day of said prank it was a cold shooting day in Belfast and his scene with Clarke kept getting bumped and bumped. When it finally came round to doing it, Momoa was so tired that he decided to 'have some fun' with it instead.

"I went down and bought a little bag of these socks. Some fluffy pink polka dot socks with little animals and I put it in…appropriate places. I look around and there are these grips walking around everywhere and I'm like, 'Whatever it's like a locker room. It's all part of making [Clarke] laugh.'

"I turn around and I'm walking towards her and am just doing ridiculous moves just to make fun of her close-up, and she's trying to hold it together, but she keeps laughing."

The crew eventually had to ask Momoa to leave to get through the scene, which he thought was rather excessive.

"'I'm the only f***er in here naked! I don't see anything more appropriate than me having a good time. I mean, this is awkward. Just let me make her laugh and I'll try to get through this.'"

So, the next time you watch Game of Thrones, try and guess which scene Momoa's lovely pink sock was featured in.
