A new trailer for the latest film in the Hunger Games franchise has just dropped, and it has sent fans into pandemonium.

The latest film in the dystopian action movie series, The Hunger Games: Sunrise on the Reaping, has just been released on social media.

Similar to the previous addition, The Hunger Games: The Ballad of Songbirds & Snakes, which came out in 2023, Sunrise on the Reaping is based on Suzanne Collins' 2025 book of the same name.

Delving more into the history of Panem that leads to the main trilogy, the film is another prequel, exploring the infamous 50th Hunger Games, in which Katniss and Peeta's mentor, Haymitch Abernathy, competed in - and won.

However, there is gonna be a bit of a wait as Sunrise on the Reaping is set to be released in November 2026.

But in the meantime, fans have been talking about what they think of the new trailer, and funnily enough, many have been saying the same things.

From the snippets alone, fans have been saying the film looks 'insane' and likely to exceed expectations when it comes out.

One user commented on the YouTube video: “The Hunger Games: Sunrise On The Reaping is gonna be the most brutal & violent Quarter Quell in the history of Panem! So excited for Haymitch story!”

Another wrote: “I love how the studio is so confident in this movie that they release a trailer a year and 11 months before release.”

A third simply added: “JUST WENT INSANE OH MY GOSH.”

With another writing: “I was 9 when the first movie came out. I’ll be 22 when this one comes out, and I’ve been a huge fan since day one!! This is so exciting!!!!

And another fan adding: “The book was great, so I’m looking forward to seeing Haymitch’s story unfold on the screen. Surprised they didn’t say his name in this teaser as general audiences won’t have a clue it’s his games.”
