Zoe Saldaña wins best supporting actress for Emilia Pérez at the Golden Globes

Former child stars Ariana Grande and Selena Gomez were both up for nominations

This year's winner for the Golden Globe's best actress has been revealed.

To kick off the 2025 awards season, Ariana Grande, Zoe Saldaña, Felicity Jones, Selena Gomez, Margaret Qualley, and Isabella Rossellini.

The nomination marked 'thank u, next' hitmaker Grande's first ever nod, with her having recently starred in the highly anticipated movie adaption of Wicked.

But Zoe Saldaña went on to win the award for their role in Emilia Pérez.

Saldaña's Emilia Pérez co-star Selena Gomez was also up for the same award.

When accepting her award, Saldaña was reduced to tears as she told the crowd that it was her first Golden Globe win.

She went on to describe her co-stars as 'magic'.

Emilia Pérez has had a huge number of nominations at this year's Golden Globes, including for best musical or comedy, best original score, and best screenplay.

The film landed on Netflix on November 13, and has received a largely positive reception.

At the time of writing, Emilia Pérez has a 76 percent audience score on Rotten Tomatoes, and 6.8/10 on IMDb.
