A US news anchor has been slammed for his reaction on live TV after a guest suffered an urgent medical emergency in front of the cameras.

Blunders and mishaps are part of live TV, typically leading to a prompt reaction from the broadcaster to head to a commercial break or get the cameras off the unfortunate individual.

On Thursday (May 8), former Trump administration official Camryn Kinsey appeared on Fox News to discuss Joe Biden's interview on 'The View', where he blamed sexism for Kamala Harris' defeat to Donald Trump in the 2024 presidential election.

Kinsey, a political commentator and keen Trump supporter, said: "This is what they have to do, they have to rewrite history because they had a failed campaign, they had a failed presidency.

"They put her as the border car. She never went to the border. So this is about incompetency. It’s not about uh ideology."

This is when Kinsey became incoherent as she struggled with words before falling to her side and fainting.

The TV cameras quickly turned to host Jonathan Hunt as he scrambled to fill the air time.

"Oh! Oh my goodness," the fill-in news anchor said. "So we're just gonna get some help for Camryn...um.. lemme come back to Lydia while we get some help for Camryn here... Um, so.. uh, Lydia.. the...ah President... We're gonna actually, we're gonna go to a break right here. We'll be right back."

Fox News then went to a commercial break before Hunt confirmed once back on air that the political commentator was conscious and being seen to by paramedics.

No further update has been provided on her condition.

"Camryn is up and moving, we have paramedics checking her out now. We will keep you updated and of course we wish Camryn all the best," the news anchor said once the show had returned.

Many viewers have flocked to Twitter following the incident, with many slamming Hunt for his reaction to the fainting episode.

One person penned: "Hey Jonathan Hunt when someone faints and hits her head on the ground you help her. You don’t just go on with the show. Cold."

A second added: "I don’t like Camryn Kinsey but I hope she’s ok. More importantly, why the f*** wasn’t Jonathan Hunt’s first reaction to check on her, rather than continue the segment?"

While a third remarked: "Why didn’t he get his tail off that chair to help."
