The Netflix horror behemoth Stranger Things is coming to an end with its final season, and the writers have given fans a little tease of what is expected.

The Stranger Writers X page is the writers’ room account and has often given insights into their process as well as behind the scenes details.

On Monday (November 6) evening, they posted a cryptic message regarding how the first scene of the final season opens.

This teaser comes as fans anticipate the end of the story for the young actors and characters we have seen grow up over the years.

Seeing the end of the story for Mike, Eleven, Dustin, Lucas and Will certainly feel like an end to an era.

The Season 5 teaser plans to open on a creepy note, just as we started back in season 1.

"Season 5. Chapter 1. Scene 1," the tweet read, followed by a picture of the script.

“The sound of COLD WIND. GROANING TREES.

“And…

“A CHILD’S VOICE. Singing a familiar song:”

Many social media users could barely contain their excitement and both praised and condemned the writers for giving a slither of information.

“OH COME ON HOW YOU GONNA LEAVE US WITH THIS. (p.s I can’t wait for season 5, and thank you for making the best show ever <3),” one user wrote.

“SHOULD I STAY OR SHOULD I GO NOWWW. “ARE WE GETTING A THROWBACK TO S1 WILL SINGING IN THE UPSIDE DOWN,” another excited fan added.

"I can not stress enough how excited i am for this series finale wow," another commented.

Other fans were more than happy to debate their own theories on the direction of season 5.

“What if… the first episode of season five goes back in time to when will went missing hence this post ^^^. And the reason it’s called the crawl is because it’s them having to go back in time to fix everything. The crawl - the voyage or an adventure/ journey, to safe Hawkins.,” one fan wrote.

“It’s gonna be a flash back to the time will was in the upside down and he’s singing should i stay or should i go in the upside down, how many points to bet that it’s gonna be in castle byers."
