It's been a whole three years since new Stranger Things episodes dropped on Netflix, but that wait will soon be coming to an end.
One of the most successful series ever on the streaming platform is set to come to an end with its fifth season, almost a decade after it debuted on the service.
Stranger Things was a kickstarter for many actors' careers, with the returning Millie Bobby Brown certainly the biggest name to emerge from the series.

Season four was released in two parts back in 2022 (boy, I feel old) and ended on quite a dramatic note with the gang taking on the all-powerful Vecna in the Upside Down - it was so dramatic, in fact, that it set a new precedent when it came to all-time streaming records.
So, you can imagine the hype when, overnight, Netflix released the first teaser trailer for the final iteration of Stranger Things, confirming that series five would be released in three parts.
Volume 1 will be released on November 26, followed by Volume 2 on Christmas Day, and Volume 3 will conclude the series on New Year's Eve, 2025.

However, the reception was mixed, as some fans were left complaining about the long wait.
"Stranger things S1 was released before I met my ex wife. which means I managed to ruin a whole marriage before they wrapped this s*** up," one person joked on Reddit.
"Genuinely, why the f*** do these seasons take so long?" a second person asked, while a third quipped: "I started watching this show when I was in my late 20s and the kids were kids. Now I'm in my mid 30s and the kids have somehow become older than me. It's been so long they overtook me."
Nonetheless, other fans were extremely excited about the new series of Stranger Things, as someone wrote on Twitter: "FIRST LOOK AT STRANGER THINGS SEASON 5 WE ALL CHEERED."

Another exclaimed: "THAT STRANGER THINGS SEASON 5 TEASER WAS INCREDIBLE OMG."
In addition to the trailer, a synopsis released by Netflix has provided a good idea of what we can expect.
It reads: "The fall of 1987. Hawkins is scarred by the opening of the Rifts, and our heroes are united by a single goal: find and kill Vecna. But he has vanished — his whereabouts and plans unknown.

"Complicating their mission, the government has placed the town under military quarantine and intensified its hunt for Eleven, forcing her back into hiding. As the anniversary of Will's disappearance approaches, so does a heavy, familiar dread.
"The final battle is looming — and with it, a darkness more powerful and more deadly than anything they've faced before. To end this nightmare, they'll need everyone — the full party — standing together, one last time."
The Duffer Brothers, the creators of the show, have previously stated that the finale of the show would be 'eight blockbuster movies'.
So, while it may be the end, there's certainly a lot to look forward to.
