Netflix viewers are demanding 'multiple seasons' of a forgotten documentary that launched on the streaming platform recently.

There's so much to watch on Netflix so you can see why a lot of film, TV shows and series get missed - but that's where forums on Reddit come in.

Getting fed up of watching Stranger Things for the 100th time ahead of the final offering later this year? Well, thankfully there's a thread on the Netflix Reddit forum that's discussing some of the best hidden gems on the streamer.

"Looking for recommendations of what you believe to be the most underrated shows that you have watched on Netflix/Prime apps," one Reddit user asked.

And the top answer currently is The Quilters, a 'way too short' documentary that you can finish while tucking in for your evening meal.

The 33-minute long documentary follows a group of men in a Missouri maximum-security prison who design and sew quilts for children in foster care.

Despite being in prison for some horrific crimes, the inmates find a new purpose and senes of self-worth by helping out foster kids through quilting.

The documentary has become the hot topic of conversation on Reddit, with many seemingly a fan.

"I agree, it was so compelling," one person penned, while a second added: "I would watch a multi-season show of this."

Jenifer McShane, the director of The Quilters, held an 'Ask Me Anything' on Reddit in recent days to answer any questions fan have.

After one fan asked for a series, McShane replied: "I’d love that. Prisons are tricky places to film. Definitely let Netflix know you appreciate the content."

Within the 'AMA', the director touched on the future of the Netflix doc, stating: "I’m working to make the film available in any prison interested. Please keep spreading the word."

Many penned reviews of The Quilters on Rotten Tomatoes amid the lack of discussion surrounding the documentary by industry critics.

One person penned: "So moving and uplifting but so devastatingly sad all at once. I am lucky if I can thread my needles on the first try and to see these men create such beautiful ART with just a few weeks of instruction was mind blowing. Must see!"

While a second added: "This documentary is so uplifting. It is wonderful to see how dedicated the men are, and how much thought they put into customising each quilt.

"In the workshop, they seem such upstanding men but it would be helpful to know a little more of their backstories."

The Quilters can be streamed on Netflix now.
