Netflix subscribers have days left to watch Martin Scorsese classic with 97 percent RT score

It's one of the most quotable movies of our times

Fans don't have long left to re-watch a Scorsese classic widely considered the 'best movie ever made.'

From Taxi Driver to The Wolf of Wall Street and most recently, 2023's Killers of the Flower Moon, there's no denying Martin Scorsese is a master of cinema.

The legendary director has won multiple awards over the years, too, from Oscars and Emmys to Golden Globes. Now, one of his top-rated movies is set to exit Netflix - and you're probably not even aware.

The streaming service shakes up its catalogue every few weeks, adding new titles but also removing some - often quietly. Films and shows are usually removed from the platform due to their licence agreements expiring and not being renewed.

So no, you're not seeing things; that movie you could've sworn was on Netflix last week could very well have been removed today. It happens!

Anyway, this particular Scorsese movie, released in 1990, was a box office hit.

Grossing $47 million against a production budget of $25 million, the film not only proved to be a commercial success but also sparked widespread critical acclaim, earning near-perfect ratings from critics and audiences alike.

The movie follows Henry Hill (Ray Liotta) over several decades as he rises through the ranks of the Mafia, induldging a life of crime, luxury and violence.

Alongside him are his volatile friend Tommy DeVito (Joe Pesci) and the calm but ruthless Jimmy Conway (Robert De Niro).

As Henry becomes more deeply involved in the criminal underworld - from hijackings and robberies to drug trafficking - his life begins to unravel, with the pressure of paranoia, betrayal, addiction and FBI scrutiny all mounting.

Soon, he's left with a some major choices to make - and only one way to turn. The movie we're talking about here, of course, is Goodfellas.

You can watch the trailer here:

Perhaps one of the most quotable movies ever, it dominated over on Rotten Tomatoes, with critics scoring it 94 percent and audience members awarding the blockbuster a well-deserved 97 percent.

In his 2023 review, New York Magazine's David Denby said Goodfellas is 'the greatest film ever made about the sensual and monetary lure of crime,' adding: "The whole perversely brilliant movie comes into focus in a single, staggering shot."

While Guy Lodge from The Guardian writes that the film deconstructs 'the male fantasy' with 'brutal elegance, along with the brand of masculinity that subscribes to it'.

Over on IMDb, Goodfellas is heavily praised, with one person calling it 'perfection', adding: "Needs to be seen to be believed."

Another said: "One of the most iconic movies of the 90s. So many unforgettable moments in cinema history."

But if you were planning on a re-watch? Fuggedaboutit! No but like, literally...

The movie is sadly set to depart Netflix in a matter of days, on Sunday, June 1. And if you've never watched it before, then now's your chance.

Goodfellas is streaming on Netflix US now until Sunday (June 1).
