Horror movie fans only have a matter of days left to watch an iconic '90s slasher movie starring Sarah Michelle Gellar before it leaves Netflix at the start of July.
Danny Boyle's latest movie 28 Years Later might be delivering horror to movie theaters this weekend, but if you're planning a summer slumber party or you're in need of some good, old-fashioned jump scares from the comfort of your own couch, Netflix has got you covered.
The streamer has recently added some newer horrors, like the 2022 movie Barbarian and another flick from the iconic M. Night Shyamalan, but sometimes you just can't beat the classics.

Now, almost three decades after its initial release, Netflix fans only have until June 30 to watch I Know What You Did Last Summer, starring Gellar alongside Jennifer Love Hewitt, Freddie Prinze Jr. and Anne Heche, among others.

The horror movie is one of a number of titles leaving Netflix US at the end of the month, so if you haven't seen it yet - or you're just in need of a rewatch - there's no time to waste.
Released in 1997, I Know What You Did Last Summer follows the story of four friends who, after previously being bound for life by a tragic accident, are reunited once again when their lovely little seaside town is targeted by a hook-wielding maniac.

While the movie hasn't received the best reviews on Rotten Tomatoes, earning a score of 48 percent critics score, it's a fan favorite for many horror lovers in need of a quick fix.
One viewer wrote: "It's better if you go in completely blind. The movie has a way more interesting plot that deserves to be respected. If I could give the movie 6 stars I would."

Another viewer described the horror as 'underrated', writing: "Underrated slasher from the 90s, Sarah Michelle Gellar as Helen Shivers has hands down the best chase scene in a slasher to date.

"Her encounter with the killer lasts around 10mins and keeps you on the edge of your seat!"
Some might find the original movie hard to beat, but I Know What You Did Last Summer has actually recently undergone the remake treatment and is set to arrive in cinemas with a new cast on 18 July.
The new version of the movie stars Madelyn Cline of Netflix's Glass Onion and Outer Banks, as well as Chase Sui Wonders, Jonah Hauer-King and Tyriq Withers.
With the new release just around the corner, why not prepare by watching the original while you still can?
