Netflix subscribers don't have long left to stream an 'iconic' horror movie praised for taking gore to a 'whole new level.'

The streaming service switches up its catalogue every few weeks - titles vanish overnight, but must-watch arrivals soon take their place.

If you're a horror fan, though, take note - an 'incredible' fright is set to disappear come June, so catch it while you still can.

The movie soared up the Netflix charts at the start of the year, but perhaps you're yet to give it a chance.

It follows Sue Ann (Octavia Spencer), a middle-aged veterinary assistant who, one night, befriends a group of teens turned down trying to buy alcohol.

She invites Maggie (Diana Silvers) and her friends to party in her basement, under a few strict conditions: No cursing, never go upstairs and someone must always be sober.

At first, Ann seems like a cool, yet deeply lonely, older woman searching for connection.

But as the teens keep coming back, she becomes increasingly erratic, growing jealous when they fail to turn up.

Disturbed by Ann's behavior, Maggie uncovers some unsettling truth about her past - but none of them are prepared for just how far she's willing to go.

The movie in question is called Ma, and you can watch its trailer below.

You’ve either already seen this 2019 release, or it’s been collecting digital dust on your endless watch list.

Either way, Netflix is removing Ma on Sunday, June 1 - so you should get a move on if you're fancying a re-watch. See what else is making an exit here.

Over on Rotten Tomatoes, fans were quick to sing Ma's praises.

"As far as horror, thriller and gore goes this is your movie! Truly incredible..." one wrote.

"Wow! This is a new level of gore and horror," a second typed. "I was no where near expecting that. Great film. Great cast."

While a third penned: "A really iconic movie, I loved it."

Many gave kudos to Spencer for her acting chops too, with some reckoning she was the driving force of the movie.

"Octavia Spencer is usually known for her comedy and funny, very animated expressions. But THIS was totally unexpected and flawless," one fan wrote. "She plays this character so well, it's completely convincing."

A third agreed: "Octavia Spencer did a phenomenal job with the acting as always. The range on this woman is great."

The discussion continued over on Reddit, where one person reckoned: "This movie was carried by Octavia Spencer. She is a gem."

A second agreed: "It's not the most original movie or anything, but I thought it was really well done, with some great performances pretty much all round."

It may have found love online, but Ma only managed a 55 percent critic score and an only-marginally-better 64 percent audience rating on Rotten Tomatoes.

Don't let that put you off streaming it though - especially if horror is your bag.

Ma is available on Netflix US now until Sunday, June 1.
