Horror fans are urging people to 'run' to Netflix and watch a top-rated movie praised by Stephen King.

There aren't many people much more qualified than the 'King of Horror' himself to recommend us a decent movie to watch.

The legendary author behind cult classics including Carrie, IT, The Shining and more, King has always been keen to share his top watches - from naming his favorite TV show of the 21st century to this mini-series with a 'Stranger Things vibe'.

The movie in question is from the producers of Get Out and first debuted in 2018 - so there's a chance this gem could've slipped under your radar.

Called Cam, the movie follows Alice, a webcam model who wakes up one day to make an eerie discovery; a doppelgänger has taken over her account.

Alice has no idea who she is, how she's pulled off the stunt or why she's chosen Alice to impersonate.

With the adult site she works on offering minimal help, Alice's life begins to fall apart.

The Handmaid's Tale's Madeline Brewer leads the movie and has been praised for her performance.

The actress is due to star in the fifth and final season of Netflix's You as Bronte, a newcomer at the bookstore who will make Joe Goldberg question his entire existence.

Anyway, taking to Twitter, when the movie debuted in 2018, King wrote: "Loved CAM, on Netflix. Great lead performance by Madeline Brewer."

The film's production company, Blumhouse, responded to the tweet: "Huge compliment from you!!"

The glowing reviews have continued on the social media site in the years since, as one fan urged: "Run to your nearest Netflix and watch CAM, written by @isaiswrong.

"A truly gripping thriller and a fantastic portrayal of a sex worker who is actually a human being!"

A second agreed: "EASILY one of the best suspenseful films that exists. eerie, shocking and original."

A third added: "The buzz did not lie: CAM, now on Netflix, is f*****g excellent. Chalk up another outstanding horror film..."

Meanwhile, Rotten Tomatoes critics rated the movie an impressive 93 percent, with their consensus reading: "Smart and suspenseful, CAM is a techno-thriller that's far more than the sum of its salacious parts - and an outstanding showcase for Madeline Brewer in the leading role."

Cam is available to stream on Netflix now.
