It's taken just a matter of days for Netflix fans to demand another season of a newly released series on the platform.

In a binge-watching culture, it doesn't take long for us to steam through a new TV show.

The time we spend watching programmes on streaming platforms like Netflix is pretty astounding, with the likes of Marco Polo being streamed for a staggering 126,500,000 hours.

Elsewhere, people have watched Barbarians (which boasts two seasons on Netflix) in just a day. Impressive!

There's also the newly released series' Dept Q', which landed on Netflix on May 29 and has since been hailed as one of the streamer's 'best crime series'.

Check out the trailer here:

"Dept Q, one of the best shows I've seen in a long time. It is excellent!!!!" one viewer penned on the 'Netflix Bangers' Facebook page.

Over on Twitter, another added: "Watching a superb series on Netflix called Dept Q. Great acting, writing and story, a lot of humour. Starts a bit dour but really develops in to a binge watch. If you haven't seen it I'd give it a try. If you hate it, it wasn't me."

Backed by people's rave reviews, Dept. Q currently boasts a very impressive 94 per cent score on Rotten Tomatoes.

Now, less than two weeks after its debut, people are calling for another season.

Discussing the matter on a Netflix-dedicated thread on Reddit, someone wrote: "I need/want season 2. It's so good."

"100% agreed," said someone else about another season of Dept Q. "Watched it over the weekend and loved it."

Noting that there are several books that have been penned by Jussi Adler-Olsen that the series is based on, the Redditor added: "There are something like 10 books, plenty of seasons for Netflix to crank out."

A different Dept Q fan insisted: "100% needs to be season 2. One of the best series I've seen in years. Excellent characters & character development, solid & interesting plotlines."

Scott Frank (best known for The Queen's Gambit and the 2017 Western movie Godless) directed the popular new series and adapted Adler-Olsen's book for television.

He said that he has been working with Dept Q's lead, Matthew Goode, for nearly two decades.

"Matthew just felt like this guy," Frank said of bringing in Goode to play Carl Morck. "I was writing with him in mind. I knew that he could do this and that he would lend this undeniable intelligence with his flintiness, but that he could also be emotional without being sentimental."

Goode has starred in hit films and TV shows like The Crown, Leap Year, The Imitation Game, Abigail, and The King's Man.
