Netflix has taken to social media to apologise after Love is Blind fans were left fuming when the live reunion cut out.

Netflix was set to continue making history yesterday by live streaming the reunion of much-loved reality TV show Love is Blind - the platform having live streamed only once before.

Alas, proving why it's not known for its live streaming services, Netflix glitched and showed an error message during the live stream of the reunion, leaving fans utterly bereft at being unable to conclude their watching of season four of the show.

And, sure enough, it didn't take long for viewers to angrily storm to social media.

Fans of the reality show flocked to Twitter in outrage after having waited all day - and some having stayed up all night - to watch the live reunion that was supposed to take place on Monday, 17 April at 1:00am BST, 8:00pm, Sunday, 16 April ET and 5:00pm, Sunday 16 April Pacific Time.

One user said: "You’re telling me I waited ALL DAY to watch the Love is Blind live reunion and it won’t load because Netflix was not a platform built for live tv????"

"Netflix showed up to the live reunion the way that Jackie showed up to her dress fitting," another wrote.

A third commented: "Netflix been harassing me all week to watch this live reunion and they can’t even get it up and running?"

Viewers were fuming when the live reunion crashed.

Netflix has since responded to the backlash it's faced, taking to Twitter today (Monday, 17 April).

The streaming service wrote: "To everyone who stayed up late, woke up early, gave up their Sunday afternoon… we are incredibly sorry that the Love is Blind Live Reunion did not turn out as we had planned.

"We're filming it now and we'll have it on Netflix as soon as humanly possible.

    "Again, thank you and sorry."

Netflix has since announced when the long-awaited, highly anticipated, but not so much 'live' reunion will be.

The streaming service tweeted: "Love Is Blind: The Reunion will be available globally at 12pm PT on April 17. Promise."

However, some fans are still unsatisfied. One Twitter user responded: "We've already watched it streaming on people's TikTok's but thanks."

"Too late. The spoilers are out. Way to go," another wrote.

A final resolved: "Disappointed overall. Vanessa is currently getting eaten in the gram for her terrible & biased hosting. She owes Marshall an apology. Rooting for the people who hurt others is clown behaviour. Other than that I think it’s only fair for Netflix give its audiences a refund for this mess. Period."
