People have been left creeped out by someone selling the 'only full body' double from a popular Netflix show ahead of Halloween.

People have been left creeped out by someone selling the 'only full body' double from a popular Netflix show ahead of Halloween.

You can find just about anything in the weird and whacky world of Facebook Marketplace, but I bet you didn't realise you could buy a body double from a Netflix series.

Devon Sterling Ferguson - who works in the film and television industry - is selling the body double of a character from a sci-fi series ahead of Halloween.

However, some viewers of the sales pitch have resolved the body double is too creepy and disturbing to buy.

*Warning: Spoilers ahead.*

The body double is based on the character of prostitute Mary Lou Henchy (Lisa Chandler) from Netflix sc-fi series Altered Carbon.

Streaming exclusively on Netflix, the official synopsis reads: "In the future, human minds are digitized and downloaded from body to body. Last night, the wealthiest man on Earth, Laurens Bancroft (James Purefoy) was murdered.

"To investigate his death, he brings back ex-Envoy soldier Takeshi Kovacs (Joel Kinnaman / Will Yun Lee) and in exchange, Bancroft offers Kovacs the chance to live again."

In season one of the series, Mary Lou Henchy dies after jumping off exclusive house Head in the Clouds.

She expects to carry on living by being 're-sleeved or spun back up' but has been secretly recoded as a neo-Catholic by Reileen Kawahara (Dichen Lachman), so there's no hope of return.

Instead, Henchy's next - and final - appearance in season one of Altered Carbon is as a body double.

Ferguson's post explains the body double was featured during the first season of the show 'when portrayed as floating dead [body] in the water as well as being shown in the morgue'.

The post reads: "The level of detail on this mould is top tier level crafted by artist Bill Terezakis.

"Everything from waterlogged feet and nail beds to eyebrows and hairlines. Everything is intact, glass eyes, resin teeth, individual hairs punctured as well as wig placement on the head."

He also notes the double is the 'only full body cast' of the entire show which was 'created and used on set'.

"For privacy and respect to the actress, we have placed black clothing over top of the double as the cast mould DOES include authentic body shape and casting formation (pubic hairs and nipples have been created for this mould)," the post continues.

If you thought that was a TMI, there's more too.

The buyer of the body double will also receive the 'underwear' and the 'white sheer dress with authentic mud/ dirt/ water' - both from season one - as well as a 'signed headshot from the actress Lisa Chandler, with a personalised message'.

The creepy body double will set you back C$5,500 (£3,500) - having recently been reduced from C$7,500 (£4,800).

The body double is listed as C$5,500.

However, many social media users have resolved the selling of the body double is all a bit too much.

One said: "This is really creepy."

However, another wrote: "Holy cow, that looks so amazing. The work they can do these days. Crazy! Nice piece man!"

A third said: "Be a great tool to end an out-of-hand pool party! Or Halloween prop. But it would probably scar some people emotionally for the rest of their lives."
