Marvel drops epic image of Adam Warlock in Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3

Fans have gone wild on social media after the golden, sparkly superhero was revealed in all of his glory.

Marvel has shared a closer look at Will Poulter in the Adam Warlock superhero suit.

The studio is preparing to unleash a whole new phase of heroes, villains, and everything in between.

Warlock, who sometimes goes by the pseudonym 'Him', will make his first full appearance in the upcoming Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3.

Marvel enthusiasts were treated to their first full look at the character in costume, with Empire Magazine spilling the tea on the Phase Five character.

It’s the first time we've seen Warlock head-to-toe in costume, and hoo boy, he cuts a mighty figure in full superhero regalia.

He looks exactly like the cartoon version he was originally based on, boasting golden, sparkling skin and slicked-back blonde hair.

This will be a relief for some considering the rumors that surfaced in July last year that claimed the third Guardians of the Galaxy film would feature a totally redesigned character.

Basically, an Adam Warlock who wouldn't sparkle like a humanoid disco ball.

Thankfully, director James Gunn shot that one down quick-smart, calling it absolute bulls**t.

Warlock is the newest addition to Phase Five of the Marvel Cinematic Universe and is currently a massive mystery to fans as big chunks of canon relating to him have been skipped over.

So what story will we see Warlock bring to life?

Well, Gunn had a few tidbits to share, while still remaining as frustratingly coy as ever.

"He’s definitely not a good guy. What we’re seeing is the infant form of Warlock, newly out of the cocoon, and he does not understand life very well," Gunn explained to Empire.

"He’s basically a baby."

He's a hell of a baby then, standing at an impressive 6'3, which is the exact opposite of short king Tom Cruise, who many fans had picked as their dream actor to play the rebel-hero-mystery man.

"People online were saying, 'Oh, Tom Cruise should be Adam Warlock'," Gunn said.

"I wanted somebody who was youthful, and I wanted the person who had the dramatic chops and the comedic chops, not only for this movie but for what Marvel will use Adam Warlock for in the future.

"He could become this really important character."

Gunn refused to elaborate, which is a bit mean, but he did tease us with this: Warlock is not a hero, but also not really a villain.

So, do with that what you will.

Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3 is set to hit theaters on 5 May 2023.
