Marvel just dropped the first trailer for The Guardians of the Galaxy Holiday Special promising all sorts of very super and debatably heroic festive fun.

Prepare for another outing with everyone's favourite spacefaring superheroes, because the Guardians of the Galaxy are back with their very own Christmas special.

The trailer promises festive fun and copious amounts of attempting to kidnap Kevin Bacon, who the team know as one of Earth's greatest heroes after Star-Lord (Chris Pratt) told them of his heroic deeds in Footloose.

Last time we saw the Guardians they were teaming up with Thor to battle baddies in Thor: Love and Thunder, but it wasn't long in that movie before the Marvel heroes parted ways.

While there's still one more major movie release for the Guardians, and it really is only one more as director James Gunn has confirmed that'll be the last one he's working on, there's still time for a quick Christmas treat.

Filming has wrapped on Guardians of the Galaxy 3 with the MCU movie expected to release next year so we'd better enjoy as much of the Guardians as we can.

Let's hope it turns out to be better than another holiday special from a much loved science fiction franchise which was so bad George Lucas says he wants to smash every existing copy with a hammer.

The Guardians of the Galaxy Holiday Special releases on Disney Plus on 25 November.

More to follow.
