Keanu Reeves admits he's been married to Winona Ryder for almost 30 years

Keanu Reeves and Winona Ryder might have accidentally got married for real whilst filming a Francis Ford Coppola film in 1992

Keanu Reeves has suggested that he might actually have been married to Winona Ryder for the past 30 years thanks to a scene in a movie.

Reeves has recently been starring in John Wick: Chapter 4 and is pretty well regarded as the nicest man in Hollywood these days, whereas Ryder has been enjoying a new chapter in her career since starring in Stranger Things.

Those things have happened completely separately, but the pair have both spoken about how a chance moment in the film Bram Stoker's Dracula back in 1992 might actually mean they’ve been a married couple the whole time

According to Reeves, the film that caused all of this consternation, which was directed by Francis Ford Coppola, saw the pair get married, but the whole thing was for real rather than just a stage wedding.

Explaining what might have happened in an interview with Esquire, Reeves said: “We did a whole take of a marriage ceremony with real priests.

“Winona says we are. Coppola says we are. So, I guess we’re married under the eyes of God.”

Reeves is actually the last member of this unlikely marriage to comment on the matter, as Ryder spoke about it when the pair were making a film in 2018, which is ironically called Destination Wedding.

She told Entertainment Weekly: “We actually got married in ‘Dracula’. No, I swear to god I think we’re married in real life. In that scene, Francis used a real Romanian priest.

“We shot the master and he did the whole thing. So, I think we’re married.”

The pair have worked together on a number of occasions, as well as Dracula and Destination Wedding, they also starred in A Scanner Darkly and The Private Lives of Pippa Lee.

So, they actually know each other pretty well.

The pair have also admitted that they’ve had ‘big, healthy’ crushes on one another over the years too.

Ryder has also had relationships with Johnny Depp, who she was with during the Dracula days, as well as being in a relationship with Scott Mackinlay-Hahn from 2011 until now.

As for Reeves, he’s been in a couple of relationships over the years too.

His relationship with Jennifer Syme was marked by tragedy after the pair had a stillborn child together, before Syme died in a car crash in 2001.

Since 2018, Reeves has been in a relationship with visual artist Alexandra Grant.

Interestingly enough, neither has ever been married – although Reeves and Syme were engaged – so maybe they really have actually been married by accident all of these years.
