John Wick has proven massively popular, but there is one detail even the most eagle-eyed fans might have missed that the director revealed.
Since the franchise started back in 2014, John Wick has proven massively popular because of the wild story, the fascinating world, Keanu Reeves finding a character as stoic as him in real life, and of course, the gun-toting action.
The franchise has been riding on nothing but highs, sparking a spin-off TV show and a spin-off film, with a fifth currently in the works.

If you do fancy diving back into the franchise, all of the films are available to watch on Amazon Prime and Apple TV, your welcome.
But the director Chad Stahelski last year revealed this amazing detail which makes perfect sense when you think about it.
The Wick character isn’t big on conversation and this has resulted in a rather interesting consequence.

Speaking about the film on the Joe Rogan Experience for the #1995 show in June last year, the director revealed that Wick’s character speaks less words than the number of people he has killed...
Kinda shows just how efficient Wick is with the gun, and just how little the character wants to have chat with his victims.
But let’s be honest, you aren’t going to watch a John Wick film because you want to hear oddly toned speeches from Keanu Reeves, but because you want to see the actor doing some wild stunts and ‘gun-fu’.
Rogan said: “I saw this thing online of the amount of people John Wick has killed compared to like Michael Myers and I think Jason [Voorhees]..."

Stahelski said: “Yeah. I think we beat Rambo too. I think we had more deaths than Keanu spoke words in the movie.
“Everyone is bringing up to me that he spoke about 308 words in the movie or something.”

The pair also riffed on the popularity of the franchise and spoke about why it proved so successful despite the relative simply premise.

Stahelski said: “It is something fun, something for the guys and the action fans and everybody out there.”
Rogan replied: “It is murder p***.”
While laughing, Stahelski replied: “Hopefully it is artistic murder.”
Rogan went on to say that the different films have their own identity and compared the fourth film to a comic book due to it being so over the top and graphic.

Also, if you were curious just how many people Wick has killed, well there are slightly different numbers floating around on social media, but in general it is believed to be over 400 compared to his 380 words spoken over the four films.
