Christmas Eve can only mean one thing... Time to settle down with a hot chocolate and stick on a Christmas movie as we wait for Father Christmas.
And one particular favourite that will be watched in millions of households across the US this evening is Home Alone.
While the original may have come out way back in 1990, fans are spotting new things every year within the Christmas classic.

Just recently, fans have uncovered a chilling theory surrounding Kevin's uncle, while many are now just noticing for the first time how Kevin got left behind in the first film as his family left for New York during the holiday season.
Now, fans of Home Alone have pointed out a glaring mistake in an iconic scene during the 1990 movie.
The scene sees Kevin, played by Macaulay Culkin, carrying groceries home in two plastic bags.

As Kevin is all by himself, he goes on a food shop, though getting the haul home does not exactly go to plan.
The iconic scene sees the eight-year-old boy stroll along the side walk before the two packed bags burst open at the exact same time.
All of the food subsequently spills onto the ground, leaving little Kevin a bit fed up.
However, the method used to make the bags break at precisely the same time was not exactly hidden well by the film's makers.

If you really examine the scene, you'll notice Culkin is clutching onto some string between the shopping bag handles.
Once instructed by the director, the actor pulled the strings at the exact same time - meaning the two plastic bags broke simultaneously.
Alongside that, the likes of cartons of milk and juice, which spill onto the ground upon impact, are in fact empty.

This has irked many fans on social media, with one person penning: "Biggest pet peeve is empty containers!!! Fill them up with water at least."
It comes as viewers were left speechless after figuring out how much Kevin’s grocery shop would cost today.
After Kevin presents a dollar coupon in the iconic scene, the total in the film comes to $19.83.

Adjusted only for inflation and nothing else, in 2023 that comes to about $46.68, according to a US inflation calculator.
Except, when TikTok user Geoffrey Lyons actually went out and priced up the items on the shopping list it did not come to $19.83, or even $46.68.
He goes through the shopping list, saying: "What does that come down to? The grand total of $63.73. Add on tax - $5.25 - and put it together, you get $68.99."
Take off the dollar coupon and you get just under $68 or just under 3.5 times the price, for exactly the same groceries.
