Fans are calling for Chukwudi Iwuji to replace Jonathan Majors as Kang

Fans are calling for Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3's Chukwudi Iwuji to replace Jonathan Majors as Kang if the role gets recast.

Iwuji has become an extremely popular choice with audiences after Marvel declared it was 'in discussions' to recast Majors following assault allegations.

If Majors does end up getting the boot from Marvel, it's clear that fans have just the guy in mind to take over the iconic supervillain role.

A few weeks back (25 March), Majors was arrested after being accused of assaulting a woman in a domestic dispute.

The 33-year-old was arrested on charges of strangulation, assault and harassment after police officers responded to a 911 call from an apartment in New York's Chelsea neighbourhood.

According to the law enforcement official, the 30-year-old woman allegedly sustained minor injuries to her head and neck, and was later taken to hospital.

A representative for Major has since denied any wrongdoing claiming: "He has done nothing wrong. We look forward to clearing his name and clearing this up."

Since then, however, Jeff Sneider from The Hot Mic podcast reported that Marvel studio bosses are 'in discussions' to find a replacement for Kang the Conqueror if it comes down to that.

While there's been a few actors' names floating around - it seems like the general consensus have agreed upon one Hollywood A-lister in particular.

Fans are coming out in their masses on Twitter to share their thoughts on who the potential replacement should be.

One wrote: "I saw some people saying that they want Chukwudi Iwuji to replace Jonathan Majors as the MCU’s Kang if he gets [recast] considering how great he was in GOTG 3 so how would you feel about this?

"If this happened it could be explained that the High Evolutionary was a Kang variant."

Another added: "If they do recast Kang in the future, I have a suggestion… Chukwudi Iwuji."

"I cannot stress enough how absolutely perfect Chukwudi Iwuji is for this role," echoed a third advocate, before declaring: "there hasn’t been as f**ked up a villain as the High Evolutionary in the MCU until him.

"If they have to recast Kang, use this as a stepping off, make High Evolutionary a variant. Incredible villain."

And another penned: "Chukwudi Iwuji should be the new Kang. He was brilliant as the High Evolutionary."

While we don't yet know the fate of who will take on the famed Kang the Conqueror role - if any - it's fair to say that we know exactly who everyone's first choice would be.
