Bowser’s song from The Super Mario Bros. Movie will be eligible for an Oscar nomination

Jack Black is a man, a myth, a legend, and hopefully an Academy Award winning singer for his Bowser-esque baritone.

Is there anything Jack Black, Hollywood's favorite singing funny man, can't do?

Nope, because he totally stole the show on opening weekend for The Super Mario Bros. Movie.

The film has been smashing records left, right and center, and one song in particular has captured the hearts of film fans around the world.

Black plays Mario's (Chris Pratt) nemesis Bowser in the movie and he uses his stunning voice to serenade us all.

The subject of his adoration? The one and only Princess Peach, voiced by Anya Taylor Joy, who is the ruler of the Mushroom Kingdom.

Sitting at his piano in his Koopa dragon evil lair, Black's Bowser-esque baritone ripples out across the inside of the active volcano in which he lives in order to get out his heart's song.

He sings: "Peach, you’re so cool. And with my star we’re gonna rule. Peach, understand, I’m gonna love you ’til the very end.

"Princess Peach, at the end of the line, I’ll make you mine," Black/Bowser wails.

The chorus is Black singing 'Peaches' in various keys and it is rather cute.

But, in the movie, Black's Nintendo villain appears to be at a low point.

Bowser sings: "Mario, Luigi, and a Donkey Kong, too. A thousand troops of Koopas couldn’t keep me from you."

Well, seems we have ourselves a classic conflict right there.

Will Bowser get his love? Does Peach love him back? Is the song awesome?

Well, we have an answer to one of those questions.

Yes, it is awesome, and it could see Jack Black take home an Academy Award for it.

The ultimate Bowser power ballad will be eligible to submit for best original song consideration at the Oscars, Variety has confirmed with Universal Pictures.

Which is just swell news, considering the song is the brainchild ogf Black and the film’s directors Aaron Horvath and Michael Jelenic.

Oh and Eric Osmond and John Spiker may have helped compose this euphonic gem.

So, all that is left is for you to do is wrap your ear holes around Black's sweet, sweet 'Peaches' melody.

And, with a star-studded cast including the likes of Chris Pratt, Anya Taylor-Joy, Jack Black and Charlie Day, what's not to love?
