Electrician-turned-music teacher blows judges minds with his America's Got Talent audition

The 59-year-old Brit wowed audiences with his rocker skills on America's Got Talent

An electrician-turned-music teacher blew the minds of the America's Got Talent judges, with his rocker audition.

John Wines, from the UK, had the audience on their feet with his incredible guitar skills and he just couldn't believe the overwhelming response after.

The 59-year-old explained he swapped working as an electrician 20 years ago to become a teacher, teaching children ages five to 18 and saying they 'keep him young'.

He told the America's Got Talent judges Simon Cowell, Heidi Klum, Howie Mandel and Sofía Vergara that he 'couldn't believe he was there' before beginning his performance. Check it out:

But both the audience and judges looked rather confused as he hooked up his electric guitar and geared up for his epic solo.

Despite their hesitation, he soon gained epic rocker status as they were quickly on their feet, clapping along as he ripped up the performance of Queen's 'We Will Rock You.'

Even Cowell threw a thumb up in the air in appreciation of the former electrician's killer skills.

After the mega guitar solo, Wines was clearly overwhelmed as the crowd before him stood screaming and cheering with the judges giving a standing ovation.

Cowell admitted he 'was not expecting that' from the 'normal' and 'sweet' looking man.

Wines was moved to tears as he told the crowd they are 'so kind' while they chanted: "We want more." He even had to take a moment to face the back in disbelief of the overwhelmingly positive response to his performance.

Vergara said: "That was so much fun to watch. You didn't think that you could be a teacher, did you ever imagine that you could be a rockstar?"

Wines told them: "It's the most nerve wracking thing I've ever done but also the most exhilarating. My legs are going."

The 59-year-old's shredding of the guitar has already racked up over one million views on YouTube in 24 hours.

But his rocker skills are not a surprise to everyone, over on TikTok as 'Old Grey Guitarist' he already has a whopping 1.3million followers.

Comments on his YouTube audition say: "He used to be my guitar teacher in school!! I’m so happy to see him on AGT, he deserves the world!! I will be forever grateful for everything he’s taught me."

One put: "When a guitarist makes 'that' face during a lick... you know he's got good hands. Bravo John Wines, you're a hero to all of us!"

And another said: "Felt like I was at a rock concert. Rock on buddy."

Of course, despite saying he was 'waiting for the red X's' Wines secured the sacred 4 yes' from the judges.
