Amanda Seyfried confirms that the Plastics are keen to return for another Mean Girls movie

She played ditzy Karen in the 2004 cult classic... and it looks like the gals are all keen to get the band back together.

Everyone's favorite TV weather reader and high school ditz Karen is keen to bring the girls back for a second run at Mean Girls.

Karen, played by Amanda Seyfried, told ET Now that the original cast is eager to sign on to Mean Girls the Musical.

So could we see the return of Cady Heron, Regina George, Gretchen Weiners and more back on our screens real soon?

Well, maybe.

Seyfried said: "I'm still hoping for a miracle. It's not really up to us. Is it? All four of us are in. 100 per cent into it."

Seyfried went on to spitball ideas for how the Plastics would fit into a new story.

"Maybe the mothers of our characters? That's what I was thinking, but listen, I have not even seen the script," she said."

Surely they wouldn't be regular moms. They'd be cool moms.

Fans, of course, were elated by the news.

One user said: "They know the girlies will riot if they try to do it with anyone else."

Another commented: “if they don't cast them all we riot like the French.”

A third added: “Give the people what they WANT!”

Anywho, as per Page Six, rumours were flying the Plastics - Lindsay Lohan, Lacey Chabert, Amanda Seyfried, and Rachel McAdams - were all interested in reprising their iconic roles for the musical film.

There was just one issue.

A bonkers-low, 'disrespectful' salary offer for the four stars that have apparently stalled negotiations.

So fingers crossed the musical Mean Girls marvel may still be on the table.

Tina Fey, who wrote the 2004 film as well as the musical, confirmed the theatre spin-off would be coming to the UK's West End in spring 2021.

From there, stage producer Lorne Michaels reckons the show has gone from strength to strength.

"It has been a joy to work on Mean Girls and to watch it go from film, to musical, and now to musical film," she said.

She will reprise her role as math teacher Ms. Norbury in the musical sequel which she is writing and producing.
