A unbelievable simulation shows how things likely played out for a man who was swallowed by a whale and lived to tell the tale back in 2021.

Lobster diver Michael Packard was grabbing headlines back in 2021 after going through an ordeal most people wouldn’t wish on their worst enemy.

If you have a fear of the deep ocean, massive animals... or being swallowed by massive animals while in the deep ocean, this story probably isn’t for you.

But that is precisely what happened to Packard when he was out with his kayak in Provincetown, Massachusetts.

He admitted he 'felt this huge bump and everything went dark'.

Luckily, it spat him out just seconds later. Guess it didn’t like the taste of him too much.

But a simulation of this very event has gone viral on social media and people can’t help but compare it to the biblical story of Jonah and the whale.

The simulation video was first shared on the Zackdfilms YouTube channel, and is just as terrifying as you might expect.

The video narrator said: “The whale swallowed the man and his kayak whole.

“Before he could react he was inside the whale’s mouth surrounded by darkness and thick slimy rows of teeth.

“For a few terrifying moments its massive jaws closed trapping him inside then just as suddenly the whale spat him back out and the man swam away completely unharmed.”

Packard has retold the story to the media for years, in fact it would be a surprise if he hadn’t told just about anyone who would listen this story.

He admitted that in this quick bizarre turned of events he believed he was done for.

Speaking of the incident he said: "This is how you're going to die. In the mouth of a whale."

“He ended up 'in [the whale's] closed mouth for about 30 to 40 seconds before he rose to the surface and spit [him] out,' Packard left 'laying on the surface floating'.

"[I] saw his tail and he went back down, and I was like, 'Oh my god, I got out of that, I survived',"

While he didn’t walk away completely unscathed, he came away much better than most who end up with these very close encounters with massive animals.

He suffered a few bad bruises and a dislocated knee, staying in the hospital for only a short time. A few small injuries and a story that never gets old, not a bad trade off at all.
