If you've made it this far in your life without knowing what 'vabbing' is, then today is your lucky day because you're about to learn something.

There are all sorts of dating trends out there for you to try if you're into that sort of thing, and one of the many which does the rounds on TikTok is 'vabbing'.

You might already be able to guess what that word you've just heard of stands for and I'm here to tell you that you're absolutely correct.

Yes, it's a portmanteau of 'vagina' and 'dabbing' and since you've made it this far you might as well learn what this trend is all about, and no it doesn't involve 'dabbing' like the dance move although nobody's stopping you.

Anyhow, if you want to engage in this particular dating trend then you'll need to know what it is, not just how we got the word.

First off you'll need a vagina, so sorry to any guys reading this but you'll just have to go and find another trend to try.

Many TikTokers have joined in on the vabbing trend.

Next, you take some of your vaginal fluids and dab them over yourself like perfume, which is why this particular trend has this name.

Apparently this natural perfume brewed up in your nether regions is packed full of powerful pheromones, chemicals secreted by living things which can trigger a response in the same species.

These responses are often sexual in nature so the thinking behind 'vabbing' goes that by using your body's natural pheromones you can drive other people wild with desire, or at least give them a good impression of you.

Perfume companies sometimes put chemicals designed to mimic the effects of a person's pheromones into their products in the hopes of getting a response, but 'vabbing' really cuts out the middleman and goes right to the source.

There's even a whole corner of TikTok calling itself #VabTok that dedicates itself to this practice.

It may be best not to think about what she's smelling.

Those who try it swear that it boosts their chances of getting dates and are convinced it works, though they also stress the value of washing your hands before and after applying the perfume.

There's a very good reason why hygiene is important as doctors have warned that the 'vabbers' among you could be putting yourselves at risk of infection.

That could lead to 'bacterial vaginosis or thrush' which will definitely not help with your chances of attracting someone via scent, and in extreme cases could lead to pelvic inflammatory disease which can risk infertility.

Besides, people secrete pheromones through many different parts of their bodies which rather renders taking them from the vagina moot.

Maybe just stick to the perfume.
