An expert has broken down the data from some of the top-searched adult film categories in 2025, after a report revealed 'pee-play' and sweaty armpits to be among the most popular topics.

With the new year fast approaching, the findings about internet users' saucy preferences were revealed this week by the ethical adult film site Ersties, which aims to create content that feels 'relatable and beautiful to watch'.

The site explains: "We want to show the kind of sex you could be having, just with better lighting! Real people, real bodies, real moans, real consent, real orgasms."

After a year of offering up the good stuff, the site collated its data and found six surprising sex trends that are growing in popularity, namely content involving feet, as well as pegging, 'pee-play', armpit licking, sweaty armpits, and tights and stockings content.

The site also identified its three most-searched categories, which include the terms 'anal', 'squirt' and 'threesome'.

Explaining these trends, Cat, Head of Creative, Community and Education at Ersties, told UNILAD that they're an indication of 'people getting bolder about naming what they actually like'.

"Foot content, armpits, pegging…these might once have lived in the shadows, but audiences now feel much more comfortable searching for very specific interests rather than sticking to broad categories," she explained.

"When sex feels safe and normalized, curiosity thrives and ethical porn gives people the space to explore without shame, so niche interests finally get their moment."

Cat went on to explain that Ersties focuses on turning performers’ real fantasies into content, meaning viewers are therefore exposed to 'a wide range of desires'.

"Seeing those fantasies explored openly makes people feel less alone, more confident, and safer to discover what they like themselves," Cat said.

Delving further into the research, the company produced a series on 'The Science of Sex', which explores fetishes including armpit play, body scent and feet.

"When fetishes are explained as part of human diversity instead of something to hide, people become far more open to exploring their own," Cat concluded.

Elsewhere in its data, Ersties pinpointed the most popular times that people are watching porn - and you might be interested to know it's not all about debauchery on a Friday night.

Instead, the company found that people were most likely to try and satiate their sexual cravings on Sundays and Mondays, between 9pm and midnight. That's certainly one way to make the start of your week more exciting!
