This Is Why Nick Cannon Won’t Stop Having Children

He said he's 'learnt so much' from his children

Nick Cannon has welcomed his eighth child - a son named Legendary Love - with first-time mum Bre Tiesi.

The 41-year-old was at the 31-year-old model’s side for her ‘all natural unmedicated home birth’ on 28 June.

The new bundle of joy is the TV host’s eighth child - he’s already dad to 11-year-old twins – Moroccan and Monroe – who he shares with ex-wife Mariah Carey as well as son Golden and daughter Powerful Queen who he had with Brittany Bell.

He also welcomed twin sons - Zion and Zillion - with Abby De La Rosa in 2021, and a son called Zen with Alyssa Scott. Tragically, aged just five months, Zen passed away due to brain cancer.

While such a large brood might seem like a lot of work to your average parent, Cannon has previously said he ‘wouldn’t be mad’ if he had 10 or even 12 kids.

During an interview on The Breakfast Club last year, Cannon said: “I always used to joke around and I was like, ‘I want the 12 as in the 12 tribes,' [referencing the 12 tribes of Israel].

“But if I got 10 to 12, I wouldn’t be mad at it.”

Opening up about his decision to become a dad, he explained: “The beauty of fatherhood, man, when you really talk about the essence of living as a father, I’ve learnt so much just from my children. And it’s so amazing. And I really just love being around my kids and just that youthful energy. It feels like you get to relive every time.

“I’ve been through so much in my life — physically, mentally and spiritually — the best place that I find is the time that I spend with my kids and their energy. And to get as much of that as possible, to pass on all that I’ve lived into something else, that’s why I do it.”

In the past, he’s also stressed that all the pregnancies he’s helped to create have been done on purpose.

Speaking on his own radio show back in July 2021, he said: “I’m having these kids on purpose. It ain’t no accident!

“Trust me, there’s a lot of people I could’ve gotten pregnant that I didn’t.

“The ones that got pregnant are the ones that was supposed to get pregnant.”

Well, I’m glad we cleared that up. Congratulations on your newborn, pal.
