Taika Waititi fuels Rita Ora secret wedding speculation sporting wedding band

Thor: Love and Thunder director Taika Waititi has fuelled speculation that he’s secretly wed musician Rita Ora after he was spotted wearing what appeared to be a wedding ring.
The ‘Poison’ singer was first rumoured to be dating the New Zealand filmmaker back in April 2021, when she posted a picture of them together on Instagram with the caption: “Good times, memories, random things on my phone and the ones I love.”
The pair went public with their relationship when they walked the red carpet together in August that year.
They have generally remained pretty private. When Taika was asked about engagement rumours on This Morning, he removed his earpiece, jokingly telling host Phillip Schofield: “You're breaking up.”

This instinct to avoid the public eye perhaps makes it more believable that Taika and Rita would wed in secret.
Fuelling the speculation, Rita’s sister Elena Ora posted a pic of Taika where he appeared to be wearing a wedding ring.
Rita posted the same photo, but suspiciously chose to cover Taika’s hand with her caption.
This comes after a source close to the couple told the Sun that Taika and Rita were planning a low-key wedding ceremony this summer.
They said: “The plan is to marry abroad, as soon as their respective projects end, with their closest friends and family around them.
"And then there will be a big celebration in London at a later stage, when they get the chance, with all their famous friends there.
“But for now it’s about getting down the aisle and making things official.
"There are a few details to iron out, but it’s coming soon and it’ll be beautifully intimate and perfectly them.”
Any secret wedding would depend on Taika and Rita finding time in their hectic schedules to fit it in.
After all, Taika has just come off the back of directing Thor: Love and Thunder and is set to direct a new Star Wars film, while Rita is also involved in a number of film projects and is also a judge on The Voice Australia.
Going on to detail how the pair reportedly got engaged, the source said: “They didn’t do a whole, ‘Will you marry me?’ thing and an Instagram post.
“There’s no ring or big build-up. They just got closer and closer and eventually said to each other almost simultaneously, ‘I want to marry you’.
“It’s actually really romantic and just exactly the way they are together.”
Whatever their plans, it sounds like they’re keeping schtum for now.
