The presumed cost of Kendrick Lamar’s 'a' chain at the Super Bowl has been revealed as fans think they’ve worked out the hidden significance behind it.

On Sunday (February 9), the Philadelphia Eagles romped their way to victory at the 59th Super Bowl in New Orleans, Louisiana.

Nick Sirianni’s side beat back-to-back champions the Kansas City Chiefs 40-22, denying the likes of tight end Travis Kelce and starting Quarterback Patrick Mahomes the historic three-peat.

The 73,000 sports spectators packed into Caesars Superdome were also treated to a spectacular 2025 Super Bowl halftime show performance by Pulitzer Prize-winning rapper Kendrick Lamar.

The 37-year-old, who was introduced on stage by Samuel L. Jackson dressed as Uncle Sam, was dripping in diamonds as he rattled through tracks ‘Squabble Up’, ‘Humble’ and ‘DNA’.

After launching into live renditions of ‘Euphoria’, ‘Man at the Garden’ and ‘Peekaboo’, Lamar brought long-time collaborator SZA up on stage for ‘Luther’ and ‘All the Stars’.

He later welcomed tennis legend Serena Williams onto the field for ‘Not Like Us’ before closing his history-making set with ‘TV Off’.

The Compton-born artist is said to have been wearing jewels boasting an impressive $980,000 value, according to UK fine jewellery and diamond experts Steven Stone.

These included Rahaminov diamond pins on his baseball cap - thought to be worth $50,000 - and a massive $500,000 ring designed by Eliantte on his right hand.

Another item that has caught the attention of the masses is the star’s 'a' necklace.

Some fans believed the pendant was a nod to Drake, Lamar’s label mate/rival at Universal Music Group (UMG) and subject of 'Not Like Us'.

According to The Sun, some viewers believe the 'a' chain is a direct reference to the ‘Tryn’a strike a chord and it's probably A Minor’ lyric.

“Rewatched the performance and just realized Kendrick’s necklace…… is in the shape of the chord a minor this man is a f**king genius, I can’t,” replied one viewer.

A second said: “Kendrick getting the entire Super Bowl screaming 'a minor' with Serena Williams dancing has to feel like a shot gun blast to Drake’s chest,”

Speaking about the ‘a pendant’, jewellery expert Maxwell Stone has explained why it could be worth around $400,000.

“Kendrick's bold necklace, featuring a thick platinum chain attached to a lowercase 'a' initial pendant, which appears to be adorned with diamonds,” Stone began.

“The necklace has become a topic of controversy, with fans speculating a connection to his ongoing feud with Drake, particularly the line ‘A minor’ in Kendrick's diss track 'Not Like Us' released in response to Drake’s swipe at him in 'Family Matters'.

“Though it's challenging to accurately value based on the available images, there’s no denying that it’s an impressive piece.

“As it’s from Eliantte, it’s sure to come with a hefty price tag. I’d estimate its worth to be around $400,000.”

“Altogether, Kendrick was dripping in an impressive $980,000 worth of jewels during his performance - truly a sight to behold and a reflection of both his style and status,” the expert concluded.
