Snoop Dogg sparks backlash after slapping a dancer’s bum on stage

The 'Drop It Like It's Hot' singer has come under serious fire for his Perth gig.

Snoop Dogg is facing backlash after he smacked a pole dancer’s bum on stage during a gig at the RAC Arena in Perth, Australia.

The rapper is currently touring Australia after cancelling a string of concerts in the country last year due to ‘scheduling conflicts’ and ‘family obligations’.

However, the 'Drop It Like It’s Hot' singer has received backlash from fans about his on stage antics as he performed earlier this week:

The inappropriate moment happened as the 51-year-old performed his iconic track 'Sweat', when he swatted the dancer’s backside several times as she bent over besides him.

Snoop, who was dressed in a blue paisley print jumpsuit, then continued to performing as the crowd sung the main chorus.

Caught on camera by members of the crowd, the clip has been shared on social media in the following days and fans have been reacting angrily in the comments.

Almost immediately after the incident, the backlash began with one user saying that it was ‘embarrassing’ to the rapper perform like that – referring to the smack.

On TikTok, they wrote in the comments: “Snoop is so commercial now, it’s actually embarrassing seeing him perform this way.”

Others agreed and felt that it had been incredibly inappropriate given how the dancer was posing on stage at the time, with one writing: “He shouldn’t treat women like that.”

While another added: “Isn’t he married.”

The reaction continued on Twitter, with one user calling the singer ‘creepy’, as they sarcastically wrote: “Yeah, nothing creep about that.”

Whilst the dancer seemed unphased by the grope, it’s not the first time the veteran rapper has been called out for his behaviour.

As a young man, Snoop was called out by 'Walk On By' singer Dionne Warwick over his misogynistic lyrics in the 1990s.

The singer was so unimpressed that she invited Snoop, Tupac and Suge Knight to her home, to have frank discussion with the men about their music.

Despite having given birth to gangster rap, the trio were terrified and even arrived 10 minutes early just appease the singer.

In her documentary, Snoop recalled the moment saying: “We were kind of, like, scared and shook up.

“We’re powerful right now, but she’s been powerful forever,” he admitted, adding: “Thirty-some years in the game, in the big home with a lot of money and success.”

He even joked: “I believe we got out-gangstered that day.”
